No title-Just a thought
As I spent a little time winding my automatics today a thought came into my head as I got to this one.This was my first "expensive" watch and I paid 105.00 for it in 1975.I was always fixated on watches and owned 3 Timexes as an early teen and I was very impressed by my Dads Acccutron "Spaceview" (I'm sure that was step # 1 in my WIS developement)Anyways-jump to present time-and I started to wonder about my watch obsession.This Zodiac Seawolf may well be the only watch that ,no matter what, I will never part with due to its history-every scratch,dent,ding,and other signs of age and abuse tells a story.The struggle to paint the insides of kitchen cabinets,the jostling around in the compartment of a golf bag along with the extra balls and tees over 18 holes ,or being stuffed into the toe of a sneaker at the beach so that it would be safe from thieving beach marauders.This watch was there for all of that and more for over 20 years!It has been overhauled only once and could use a new dial

a superb 2 days ¡­¡­¡­..
Just had a magnificent 2 days !!Our dealer Degreef ( Belgium - Brussels) invited us for an extraordinary 2 days in Geneva.Day 1, a visit in the Patek museum, I guess it's my 4th or 5th time but every time you are in the museum you discover new art or new important watches.Most of you know that it is forbidden to take pictures so unfortunately I can't post pictures.After the museum we had some spare time so a few of us went the the Patek salon, ofcourse I was one of them LOLAs usual the staff is very helpful and VERY friendly. I can't remember her name but a women from Belarus showed us everything we wanted to see and afterwards she took 3 of us upstairs to the 5th floorWhat a view !!!the furniture just screams classThank you 'lady from Belarus :-) ' !!!Afterwards, back to the hotel and getting ready for a nice diner.I did several manufacture visits in the past and you never know who the other invitees are, this time it was a PERFECT group. Complicated Patek or Rolex Comex?
I have been thinking about my next acquisition and it really comes down to two options. I have recently shifted much of my collection to PP. I just did a big trade consolidating several watches for a new 5970J . I have been thrilled with the result. The 5970 may be the perfect watch. It's the perfect size, the layout is legible, the look is extremely elegant and the quality is remarkable. I have also been wearing other PP's as daily wearers. Nevertheless, I have always wanted a COMEX. I love the Sea Dweller and the rarity factor and romanticism of the extreme divers watch has always captured my imagination. I know it only a dial and caseback but it just is really the only Rolex now that interests me along with other rare models like the Omani SeaDweller. Which would you guys lean to in the next round of insanity? Thanks and a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year to all....

Chromalight on T 25 Dial
Has anyone serviced their tritium dial Rolex and come back with new Chromalight lume?I know many are opposed to this as they prefer the patina look. Just curious to see if it's been done. I for one wouldn't mind picking up an older 16570 polar ( either Swiss Made or Swiss T<25) but would like to at least see it in the dark if it was a tritium dial.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
