watches-dealer Reader Joins Us For Watch Weekend In Los Angeles
Recently, watches-dealer reader Griffin C. from Chicago, Illinois, joined me here in Los Angeles for a few days of geeking-out watchnerd-style and to attend The World's Most Expensive Watches book party with us. This was a result of Griffin winning a giveaway prize early in the year that we had intended to experience with him over the summer. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, the originally planned trip to the watch maker RGM in Pennsylvania was cancelled by RGM, and resulted in a dispute between the company and watches-dealer that the online watch community has discussed a few months ago. Damasko DC66 Watch Is Venerable Sinn 757 Alternative, Competitor; One Available Now
Superman never really had much competition. He had some villains and of course there was kryptonite, but no one ever challenged him for Supermanliness. Well, the Sinn 757 has been called a superman of watches. It is tough and functional, has lots of powers, and boasts plenty of innovation (I think Superman's powers were innovative at one point). To a degree it stood out, even from other Sinn watches, but recently someone has challenged the Sinn 757 at its own game.Go ahead and call the Damasko DC66 a competitor and a copy to the Sinn 757. Both Damasko and Sinn are German watches companies, both watches look similar, and have what are essentially Valjoux 7750 movements(though the Sinn 757 has a heavily modified version). My latest restoration
I have finally finished restoring the last Cushion Form that I own. It's a 1st. Generation, solid 14KWG, 986A movement and it's a plain case (both bezel and center case). According to Rene, only 1076 of these were produced, so I guess one would call this rare. Here are the before and after photos, see if you can tell which is which

Advise on 15400 size
Hi ,Just wanted some advise regarding the size of 15400.Currently have bumble bee on diver strap and that works well for me.But the RO would be more office / semi formal watch for me.My wrist size is only 6 1/2 inches and fairly flat and due fact that can't get like new 15300 at decent price I'm thinking just getting the white 15400 instead.I tried it on at AD but with the bracelet not been adjusted it hard to tell. Also may be just in my mind but the black dial looks like better fit but only interested in the white as have alot black faced watches already.Just to add I also have IWC 5001 auto which fits ok my thoughts is that 41mm should wear about the same.Any advise would be welcome many thanksAnish

Alternative bands with Seamasters?
I'd like to see some pics of seamasters with aftermarket bands that people like. I'm pretty new to the watch thing, and I plan on getting a Seamaster GMT as my first automatic watch. The NATO bands seem to be popular. Any other suggestions for different bands? I'll work up to a Rolex in a few years. My conscience won't let me buy a Rolex until my house is payed off in a couple of years. I thought I might start with an Omega, and learn about Rolex over the next few years.david
