There are many things we take for granted when speaking about modern timepieces, and one of those is water resistance. There are no "water proof" watches, as that implies water would not be able to enter them under any circumstances, so we use the term "water resistant." The history of water resistant watches really began in the 1920s, but it was not until later that the serious water resistant diving watch came into existence. I recently sold a watch and had some extra$$ and went looking today with nothing in particular in mind.I viewed a few watches that looked like fun but the realization seems to finally be setting in that I have a big enough collection and can go on talking about watches for a gazillion years without the need for a new watch!!When I got home I put on a seldom worn Tutima and cannot believe that I was considering another (less quality) timepiece when I had this Tutima available!I'm certainly nowhere near coming to grips with my obsession with watches but I may be getting a handle on the constant need for something new while all of my seldom worns serve the same purpose!

From the Haute Horology glossary:Fly-back (Retour en vol)(In French: fly-back (retour en vol)) A function of particular use to pilots by which the chronograph hand can be reset to zero and immediately started again by pressing once on the pushpiece. Indeed, the operation of stopping, returning to zero and restarting the hand in three separate movements would be too time-consuming at high speed.
