Tow watches I've fixed in the last week are in need of being put back in beat. One is the Lord Elgin Cranbrook, with a 680 movement. I put it back together, and unlike dang near every other watch I've worked on it did NOT start right up when the balance went back in. I had to give it a spin, and then it ran. When I timed it, instead of the 'ticks' every 0.2 seconds, the 'tick' is shorter than the 'tock', but they average out to 0.2 seconds, so the overall rate is pretty close. BUT it's not right. It's out of beat. The two swings of the balance should be as nearly equal as I can get them. Yesterday I spent a long time on a 718, putting in a NOS balance I'd bought a while back. Once again, it didn't take off when the balance went in, until I gave it a spin, then it ran. Timed it, and got the same thing. Here's about 0.9 seconds of the timing. The top is a computer-generated 300bpm track. The second is a watch that's in beat. The third is the out-of-beat 718. Notice how th
I've got an idea for the WTF watch.Picture the new 43mm Invicta Stainless Steel, Black Dial, Coin Edge Bezel Pro Diver on a Stainless Steel Bracelet, Sapphire crystal and sapphire see-thru back, SW200 movement. Now, picture a gold applied Logo of WTF on the dial replacing the twelve o'clock index. An engraving on the back. How does THAT sound??? Maybe Eyal Lalo and Jim Skelton can show it OTV to promote it and say that the leading watch forum asked for this to be made for their members.Sounds special. NOW THAT WOULD BE SPECIAL!!!!!And worth $300 to boot. Maybe Invicta would help lower the cost being we're so loyal to them and important word of mouth sales for them. It would be an honor to Invicta and to us to have something like that happen.

Ok as I keep using you kind gents as my impulse control mechanism here we go again lol! Ive always wanted a AP chrono diver but couldn't justify the money.... The situation has arisen that I have found a 2014 safari(from a reputable dealer) that's is willing to trade my 116613lb (same 2014) +$4900 usd his way for it....Is this a viable trade or am I throwing money away?Keeping in mind I've got a explorer II, GMT master II Coke, 114060 and a 16600 seadweller so I'm not short on RolexesI don't wear the TT often as the sub and the explorer get most of the wrist time at work I really want an AP but I tend to loose my sensibility when I get my hands on a watch and just say do it lol! Opinions?
