New Colors for the Alpina Extreme Diver 1000 Meters
Last year Alpina launched its Extreme Diver 1000 Meters. For Spring/Summer 2009, Alpina introduces four new dials: Yellowtail, Orange Sunset, C?te d’Azur and Black Ocean. The Extreme Diver 1000 Meters has a 48mm black PVD steel case with a unidirectional rotating bezel displaying a luminous minute indication. The bezel measures elapsed time in minutes for the first fifteen minutes and then in ten minute segments after that. A luminous triangle marker highlights the 12 o’clock position. The watch also features an automatic helium escape value at 10 o’clock. The black dials offer optimized readability: Arabic figures, hands and applied indexes are coated with colored SuperLuminova. The date at 3 o¡¯clock is displayed in a half-moon shaped aperture. Under the dial, the Alpina Extreme Diver 1000 Meters features an automatic movement with a power reserve of 42 hours. The movement, with its black rotor, can be viewed through a sapphire case back.Technical information appears

New shoes on the Seawolf! New Diver II deployant & strap
While down in Tampa earlier this month, I stopped in at Old Northeast Jewelers to see what they had in the watch cases. As usual, quite a bit, but that's a topic for another thread. No, I didn't leave with a new watch, but I did leave with the new Diver II strap and new deployant buckle for my Seawolf... This deployant was introduced about a year, maybe a year and a half, ago to complement the diver strap & tang. I've wanted to see one in person for awhile, as it looked to be a great deployant in pictures. I was not disappointed.It's big, strong & heavy-duty - as any diver deployant should be. At a $410 MSRP you may think it's expensive, and it's certainly not cheap. But compared to other brands it's actually not bad. And if you consider the standard folding buckle for the leather straps is $450, the more complex, heavier duty diver deployant could be considered 'a deal'. Possible 5167 winding issues?
So, I've had my 5167 for just over a month now and i'm absolutely loving it! I just let the power reserve run out and thats when i noticed manual winding seems a bit odd. When i unscrew the crown i seem to have to spin the crown a couple times in the 12 o'clock potion before it catches and starts to wind. Normally i wind by spinning the crown in a 12 to 6 o'clock motion, but in this case as soon as you turn the crown in the 6 o'clock position the crown feels like it's free floating and you can spin it 3-7 times in the 12 o'clock position before you feel it stop at the winding gears. Hopefully i wrote this in a way you guys can understand. Is this normal with the 324 movement? or has anyone heard of this before? Thanks

Hey guys, need some help here. I'm Rolex through and through but I'm really jonesing for something different. I was a hair's breadth from pulling the trigger on a Pam 533 today. I was offered 10% by the local (and only) boutique but an AD offered me 12%. Both discounts seem pretty reasonable to me but I know nothing about Panerai. Is that sort of discount good or could I do a lot better? I don't want to go down the route of a trusted seller, I want to buy from an AD.This watch really sang to me but don't want to buy in haste to find I could've done better elsewhere.

Most of you won¡¯t agree, however I predict that a platinum Submariner will be released at Basel this year, makes sense because the other 2 icons are made in platinum as well and the sub is the icon without a platinum model....
