What is your favorite dress Hamilton?
For me, it is the Jazzmaster 3 hand automatic.

What was it that brought you to collect Hamiltons?
I am just curious about the reasons of others around here. What was it for you and why do you collect Hamiltons?For me it was a kind of meandering around until I became a collector of vintage Hamiltons. I was always fascinated by those old movies of the socalled Golden Era and the style of certain things in the twenties and thirties. I also devoured the books from people like Raymond Chandler and the like. Well and then I am fascinated in general by the style and art of the first half of the twentieth century, being it art noveau, art deco and what's called Bauhaus (I was born in Weimar and came into contact with the latter during my childhood).Besides that I am a big fan of the fashion of that time and what could be better thant to wear the right watches for it. But that only got me into some light interest into looking what watches were made then. What me really brought to collecting them was something completly different. Tomorrows the day.
I used to think that the royal oak style case was a bit old fashioned and not to my liking, then I got a bit older and my taste refined a little (I am only a young 42). Now after a fair bit of deliberation I'm one sleep away from owning a hexagonal timepiece. Can't wait til tomorrow.

Resetting date etc. on a grand complication
Having recently become the proud owner of a grand complication (5140G), I left it behind on a recent 7 day multi-stop trip, as I did not want it to be bashed around at multiple airport security checkpoints and also constantly to be worrying about its general welfare. I am sure that this excess of caution will pass with time and use ...As the run up to my departure proved more chaotic than I had hoped, I did not have time to figure out how to put the watch on its automatic winder for the first time. Hence the question: Does it make any difference if I just wind the watch forward a week, rather than re-setting it with the setting tool (with attendant risk of scratching whilst I am inexperienced in its use) ?As a matter of good practice, does it make any difference which way one advances the watch, if it were to be done on a regular basis ?

Skydweller is it a good purchase?
Please could the forum feedback on their thoughts of The stainless steel Skydweller and is it a sound purchase and a classic watch? I am looking to cash in for my Airking 116900 and Milgauss Black Dial .
