New Official Star Wars Watches To Be Made By Nixon
May the 4th be with you! Today on May 4th, 2015 (the sort-of-official Star Wars day), California-based Nixon watches has announced an upcoming line of official Star Wars watches. Nixon has mentioned to us that this is a relationship they've taken very seriously from a design perspective and wanted their Star Wars watches to be more than branding exercises where Star Wars names and logos are slapped on a dial. This means existing and new watches will be modified or created to merge Nixon design language with that of the rich Star Wars universe.As a pre-release teaser, Nixon has shared with us what appears to be a revamped version of the brand's popular Diplomatic model ¨C which is perhaps the upcoming Nixon Darth Vader watch, or similarly themed Nixon "Dark Side" watch. Well, the weather here was horrible today, so took the little one to the mall to stroller around some. Of course, being at the mall, I had to do some window watch shopping. Luckily it was the mall, a place I'd never buy a watch at as the prices are way too much compared to the other AD's...However, in one of the Rolex dealers I picked up 2 "new" (well, maybe not so new) rumors about new models The salesman said the info is 'straight from the Rolex rep who is right there with what's happening in the Rolex corporate offices & would know everything about the new models coming out" (yes - I kept a straight face as he told me this! ).. Anyways, the story was:1) a new 42mm Sea-Dweller (and the 40mm will stay in the line-up)2) A 40mm Day-DateOk, so nothing earth shattering. I wouldn't be surprised by either, and the thickness of the SD over the Sub would definitely fit a 42mm very well, maybe even better than a 40mm size. IMO a 42mm SD, new solid center bracelet links (keeping it br

Watch Parallax Phenomenon
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this phenomenon which JBH and I refer to as the "Watch Parallax Phenomenon." As WPP goes, a watch looks smaller on your wrist as viewed from, well, from your head, as compared to seeing your watch on someone elses wrist where it looks considerably larger. Or maybe compared to seeing a picture of you with your watch on. I'll wear my Sub and think its a nice size but not overly big, but then I'll see one on someone else and think, wow, they must have gotten the Maxicase-Sub. Same happens with pretty much all of my watches. I'm afraid to see my 44mm Panerai on someone else with a spindly wrist like mine.
