what makes it gold toned?
Hello all, first-time poster here - I'm looking into 2-tone (stainless and gold)Seikos. I can't tell if the gold is gold or some other metal that looks like gold. Are there any inexpensive gold plated Seikos?Arguably, Seikos are the best for the buck. Any suggestions for the best gold-plated watch for the buck?

Okay, a few weeks ago I posted this thread:Decisions, decisions!I got a little sidetracked by a vintage piece, but the hunt is now recommencing. I stopped in one of my favorite ADs to have a look today. From the original thread the Longines are eliminated because they're just too big in real life for me. Very nice, but clumsy on my wrist. I have yet to try on the GO Sport Evo but at 42 mm I'm afraid that will be quickly eliminated also. The Bucherer Patravi is still a serious contender, and I will keep the Rolex Yachtmaster in the mix because it's such a classic. After trying on a few nice pieces like the Baume & Mercier Capeland Chronograph (wow! ....but just a touch too big) and an Omega SMP chronograph (another wow, and I'd track down the silver dialed 2589.30 if I felt comfortable with it but it wasn't perfect) I found two serious additions to the game:Chopard LUC Sport 2000Holy smokes! I am a newb.But I've recently made the decision to buy an AP and this will be my first watch. I don't have a whole ton of knowledge and have been reading online as much as I can. I'm planning on buying the Royal Oak Offshore w/ceramic bezel in 18kt rose gold... reasons are just that I like it.I've been checking online and shopping in person in Bangkok as I am traveling through Asia.Ceramic bezel was not in either official dealer here in Bangkok, only the rubberclad. This is listed online in the USA around $36k with grey market dealers. MSRP from AP is around $50k I believe, but it's being shown in these boutiques at $62,000. They of course instantly offer a 20% discount off of that 20% markup to bring you down to the AP MSRP.The best price I could squeeze out in person was around $44k for the rubberclad. By the time I got there and had read what people had to say long term with the rubberclad I decided to just move on to the ceramic bezel model.Is it worthwhile to try to shop for this

Wanted!! Information about SubC dial?
Hello everyone,I¡¯m hoping to get some information about the writing on the dial of the ¡®newer¡¯ version of the Submariner if possible? (114060 and 116610)Whilst scrolling through some pictures I¡¯ve noticed that there seems to be a slight spacing between ¡°1000ft = 300m¡± on some, and virtually no gap on others ¡°1000ft=300m¡± (I¡¯ll add some representative pictures below.)It appears to be on both the SubC and Date version so it doesn¡¯t seem to be confined to one or either model..With everything I¡¯ve read on here about how precise and meticulous Rolex are when it comes to consistency this leads me to believe there must be for a reason for the difference?Does it denote a year of production or something similar?I¡¯m genuinely intrigued and would really appreciate it if any one of you learned people could shed some light on this for me..Thank you in advance,AlexSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
