please help identify: calatrava 5196?
Hello, I have bought this watch around 98 in honkong and kept it in storage ever since. Im thinking about selling it, but im not quite sure which model i got, it very much looks like the pictures of the calatrava 5196, but as you can see in the picture mine does not have a mark on the 6 o clock digit, as the other ones have.Also i am trying to figure out how to price it, since i dont have the packaging or certificate anymore. Dead Watches
Not a pleasant subject but a real one.What do you do when a watch dies?I have an old Wenger that has expired and still lives in the back of a drawer.Also an old Seiko kinetic, dead eco drive and a couple of poorly judged Ebay vintage purchases that have expired in my care.I just can't bring myself to dispose of these poor,expired watches.I assume that I am NUTZ!!!

Speedy Pro......yes it tells the date.
I am loving my newest, a 3570 speedy pro. I am also very forgetful when it comes to the date, so I usually buy watches that give the date. Well after learning that the speedy can tell the date, I was sold. I use the right sub dial to tell the date, so when winding the watch in the morning, I run the Tach for a minute until the hand on the right sub dial jumps one over. It is super easy to do and I actually love doing it. I really enjoy manual wind watches and this is just another trick that really makes me bond with the watch. I also find it super easy to read, with the marking at 10, 20 and 30, it just takes a quick glance to get the time and date. Honestly, this might just be my favorite watch I have ever owned. I heard that the speedy was special on the wrist, but I must say, super comfortable, super legible, just a amazing watch.
