Gunny Strap for my Android Volcano 50
When I first received my Volcano 50 I shared the same feeling about the stock rubber strap as many others. I felt that it was disproportionate to the very thick case of the watch. Many people immediately chose to swap out the rubber with the 5 link SS bracelet Android had available separately. So I decided to be different and go the "GUNNY ROUTE". I wanted a perfect compliment for this watch and I felt that I got it. The strap matches the case and dial colour perfectly! it was very difficult to capture how well it matches the dial with the poor camera I used. I did my best by using flash and no flash to show the variation of it and also to show the wicked rugged distressed/vintage look of the strap as well. The strap is grey but has subtle hints of brown and green. The vintage/distressed look of the strap is AMAZING. Breaking in hornback straps
I was chatting with the AD and I mentioned how stiff hornbacks were. She recommended putting rice in a sock, tying it off, and microwaving it until it was warm. Then wrap your hornback around it. This supposedly will help soften the strap and bend it. Has anyone ever tried this?

5980 - first time wrist click
I just wanted to share the very first wrist shot I took of my 5980, right after I had unboxed it. I can tell you, that is a special feeling. I still get, after a little over a year owning it, that kick when I click it on my wrist. There has been several pictures after this first one ;o)

Rolex servicing in northern VA
Hello, I have inherited a Rolex Submariner from 1983. It was a family member's watch and has never been serviced. I would like to have it serviced and cleaned. Has anyone have experience with a local Rolex trained watchmaker in the northern VA region that can do the servicing and cleaning?I found two places:.watchmasters.net/rolex-watch-service.html.johnalabasterwatchandclock/ Anyone have anything good/bad to say about either one? Or has anyone have experience with the typical mall ADs at Tysons Mall?I have searched and saw the many threads on the RSCs, Dallas vs NY, and it seems Dallas has a lot more positive reviews than NY. I also cotnacted Bob Ridley but he gave me an estimate of between $750 to $1800.
