Seems as though a few times a week I am informed about a new pilot watch. Brands like to talk about how this feature helps pilots with this, and how aviators love that. Apparently someone uses a slide-rule bezel, and being able to see 12 timezones at once is useful. Without knowing what people who fly actually use and need, it is hard for me to discuss these pieces on a level above being a watch nerd. Hi All:Is there any way one can extract the actual manufacture date of Omega watch from say like the serial number.I was interested in find this out on my recently purchased Speedmaster Day/Date 3222.80Thanks

My Omega Speedmaster and my July 04, 1969 Life Magazine
I was able to get a pretty cool pic of my Speedmaster perched on top of an original Life Magazine dated July 04, 1969. I had it vacuum sealed for many many years. It was my late grandfathers magazine and still has his 'white mailing sticker' in the lower left of the magazine. I thought the watch and magazine fit well together.

Platinum 44 with dark blue rubber strap
I have a few straps for my 44 including the mid blue that AP offer as their platinum option but to my eye it clashes a bit with the dial shade which is a different blue - this is one reason why I think the white rubber looks so good.My question is does anyone here have a photo of the platinum with the other AP blue option which is a dark blue?
