I love when Marcello C watches show up on eBay, it is such a rare treat, and an opportunity to own a truly satisfying watch. The Marcello C Nettuno 3 is uncommon watch as it is relatively inexpensive but enjoys a very high level of quality. The only other watch to compare it to is the Rolex Submariner. Each have the same features, and arguably, the Marcello C Nettuno is more comfortable on the wrist. I have a Marcello C Nettuno 3, actually two of them. They are perfect watches for everyday wear, that are stylish, and very handsome.This Nettuno 3 is very special because it is a special edition style watch. It has been outfitted with "sword" hands, and special hour indicators. The custom indicators and hands serve to give the watch a more aggressive and bold look. Sword hands on diver's watches such as this are commonly used to increase visibility underwater and at night. The larger hands tend to be more conspicuous in such environments. New Arrival (Prometheus content)
When searching for an Ocean Diver to buy I ended up falling for the Recon 5 as well and had to pick it up from Prometheus (OD should be here early next week). Received the watch today in the beautiful carrying case Prometheus watches come in and was really surprised at how much I like this watch. Very simple face and easy to read, perfectly sized on my wrist and quite a looker at that. This is my first hand-wound watch so I love hearing the ticking and the tactile feel of the winding, I just love it. Enough talk, more pics...Edit: w/pics of case:

Buying an older Patek that has sat in a safe
Good morning, I am looking at a Patek 5712/1a and have been offered a reasonable deal on one that is still factory sealed in its coffin box, but which dates back to 2008. Is this something I should avoid ? Should I factor in the cost of an immediate service ? I have read a lot of debate on the forum about the settling of oils, though I would have thought a 2008 watch was modern enough that the synthetic oils used would remain evenly coated across the train and the watch would be as good as new. As a relative newbie, however, I may be showing my ignorance. Also, are any of the Patek experts here aware of any changes on the 5712/1a between 2008 and today ? In pictures it looked to me that the dial is now perhaps a lighter shade of blue, but that may just be a trick of the light. Very grateful for the guidance of the forum.
