Cartier WE600151 wrist watches news:
SIHH is just 10 days away, and the story of this year's show will likely be the 40th anniversary of Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak. While the famed ultra-thin movement (the thinnest in the world with a full rotor), the amazing Genta design, the incredible finishing on the stainless steel case, the fact that the watch essentially created the luxury sport watch category are all great things, the one thing most often overlooked is the unique design to the Royal Oak's dial.Since the very first Royal Oak was sold to the Shah of Iran, and those 1000 A-Series pieces left Le Brassus, they featured dials with a tapisserie pattern on them, a weaving pattern that forms the square and lozenge motif that captures the light and accentuates the timepiece’s "geometric relief." But just how exactly is this pattern created? Well, AP has been subcontracting the production of its Royal Oak dials to one famed dial manufacture all the way from the beginning - Stern Creations. I purchased a Rolex Sea Dweller from an authorized dealer probably 20+ years ago. I have not worn it in some time but recently pulled it out and noticed that it had virtually no dark illumination. I left it in a sunny location for a few days but it still is virtually glow-absent. Is there something which can be done to restore the illumination properties?Karl
Just got back from a nice dinner with a friend and we were talking about what elsewatches - and specifically Patek's. We were debating the 5960 and the 5980, trying to decide which would we choose, if we could only have 1 of them. My personal choice was the 5960. I personally love everything about the watch. That said, out of these two, which would would you personally prefer, and why? Calfee

Does anyone have any wrist shot of the 42mm vs. the 45.5 mm PO? Since I bought my 41.5mm Great White I'm getting used to the smaller size. I was debating trading in the 45.5 for a 42, although this is just preliminary thinking. Thanks,Peter
