Cartier WJ304350 wrist watches news:
Welcome to Three On Three. It's one thing for us to give you an in-depth look at a single watch, to wear it and review it, on its own. But there are always options out there. With Three On Three we select a category, choose three watches that represent competitive takes on a theme, and compare them head-to-head. To kick things off, we went with a basic in any man's watch wardrobe, the manually-wound dress watch. Of course we had to get a little more selective, so we've picked three that all feature in-house movements for under $20,000: A. Lange & Söhne's Saxonia in pink gold, F.P. Journe's Chronomètre Bleu, and Vacheron Constantin's Patrimony Traditionnelle Small Seconds in pink gold. All three are seriously impressive entry points into true high-end watchmaking and here Benjamin Clymer, Stephen Pulvirent, and Paul Boutros dissect them side-by-side. 1 OF 52 Let's start with the set-up. I really enjoy my vintage Hamilton collection. it is a good feeling to give a vintage new life. I wear one at least once a week as well as around the house when I get home on occasion. How about you?
Have not seen many posts on this. Any wrist shots out there?
I sold my 3570.50 about 6 months ago and was missing it. I think the Speedmaster is one of the handful of watches that every collector needs to have in his collection. Like the Submariner, it is timeless. When the opportunity came up to acquire another one, it just happened to be the discontinued 3572.50. I believe it was around 2002 that Omega discontinued the 3572 in favor of the 3573 (also known as the sapphire-sandwich). The changes were the introduction of the sapphire crystal instead of hesalite and also the inscription on the caseback that was changed from First Watch on the Moon to First and Only Watch on the Moon. One thing I have noticed is that the 3572 has a bracelet that tapers to the clasp, and the clasp doesn't have the push-button release like the newer Speedmasters and Seamasters. Is this correct?Anyways, I took some quick pics...picasaweb.google/zirotti/SpeedmasterPro#
I know it's not to everyone's taste, but that's what makes collecting so enjoyable in many ways :) For my first post on the Patek forum, my Travel Time . . .and putting it good use with some travel next week. Patek in Manhattan helped me fit a strap and tighten the clasp to keep it comfortably on the wrist through airports, restaurants, office and hopefully a beach or two . .. HAGWE all!
