- I was pleasantly surprised by this watch/charm bracelet. I'm actually not a watch fan. Therefore, for me this is great! It's more of a bracelet, that happens to have a watch attached! I think it's gorgeous!!! It is fairly chunky. (something else I liked) But, if you're looking for something and dainty, this is not for you...

Cartier W3109699 wrist watches news:
An original Rolex Milgauss Ref. 6541 produced in 1958 brought more than $113,000, including buyer’s premium, at today’s Bonhams auction of fine wristwatches in London. The watch, Lot 139, was originally sold by Watches of Switzerland in New Bond Street in 1962. Characterized by the “lightening strike” center seconds hand, the Milgauss was designed for use in areas subjected to high levels of electro-magnetic radiation. This example has a black honeycomb dial, “Milgauss” printed in red, a caliber 1066M movement, and a 35mm case.
With the increase in mass-produced luxury watches, truly limited runs (let alone unique pieces!) have never been a more attractive emotional and financial investment. Despite the global recession, the luxury watch industry seems to have not only escape unscathed, but rather has performed extremely well over the course of the last two decades. If major luxury brands were not careful, they soon found themselves in a position where their output was upped significantly to respond to the high demand ¨C while independent watchmakers doing masterful work have emerged to cater to those looking for something new and extremely limited in availability. the bloody raised gold letters! Especially when the sun goes down. Auugghhhh!!!! I love wearing my Hamilton watches, especially my Wesley and the Langdon that Dan just sent me. But, I'm straining to read the raised gold letter dials, particularly in dim light. I guess 'father time' is catching up with me! :-0 I think it's the lack of contrast that gives me difficulty. Maybe the Hamilton models with luminescent or black numbers might be easier on my eyes. An early tonneau or barrel model? Or maybe a luminescent round dial from the 40's? Or maybe just strap an 18 size Railroad pocket-watch to my wrist? ;-)Any suggestions? Anyone facing the same challenge? If nothing else this visibility issue gives me a new excuse, ah.., reason to add to my collection! Now I really NEED a new watch! :-) What models should I try to collect that would be the easiest to read?Tx, Piscator
