Breitling Cockpit (Big Date)--Any comments?
This watch has several nice features: a big date and 300m water resistance, etc. Does anyone here currently own one or have experience with one in the past? How did you like it? How was the lume performance? Any problems with the date mechanism? While this model doesn't have my absolute favorite design, overall it seems to have a great many features I like so I thought I would ask about your experiences with it. Thanks in advance for your input.

Fifteen minutes, a new strap and a little bit of elbow grease...................
While I was minding my own business, trolling through the swamp without any intention of buying anything, a set of lugs caught my eye. The photos were out of focus so I couldn't tell for sure. But, as I read a rather long description, there it was 'Grenadier I', in running condition, a 50's Hamilton model that I have admired for some time. I am more a vintage 20's - 40's kind of guy, but, the 50's are my guilty collecting pleasure. But, since I have been tracking this model, which doesn't come up that often, and hardly ever in my price range, I was intrigued. So, I squinted and tried to discern whatever I could and decided to place a bid and see what happened. I think the blurry photos, taken from a distance that limited any further detail didn't draw much attention or, cause many to read the listing. So, my conservative bid turned out to be more than enough.So, a few days later, this is what I got, and afterwards what it looks like cleaned up. Now it will just need to take

3573.50 was magnetized!
Guys,You aren't going to believe this (well maybe you are). My speedy was running +45sec/day fast. The chrono was advancing automatically to the 5 second indice when the pusher was depressed and it was hard to wind. Which lead me to believe my certified pre-owned Speedy from Tourneau (yes I know, should've bought from TRF, was a good deal) was in need of a service or overhaul.However, upon taking to the service dept at Tourneau, it was determined that my speedy was magnetized! They demagnetized it, it's now running +8-10sec/day with an amplitude of 317. And the chrono feature works again. I validated the timing against atomic time.No idea how it go magnetized, but wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience?

The SMP clasp is something special
I noticed that the clasp on my SMP is really heavy duty. The clasp is thick and the buckle is meaty. The divers extension link is also sturdy, who else has noticed that this is one hell of a watch.

Sub C Power Reserve
HI all, I have noticed my 4 year old Sub C's power reserve is down to about 41 hours. It actually achieved 50 hours when I first bought it. I suspect the watch is a little older than 4 years as the serial dates to around 2011 although I get that is not exact. It was bought new at an AD back in the day when they had several in stock and the 114060 hung around for a while. The good old days!In any event it is still keeping perfect time, about +1.5 seconds per day. I don't plan to do anything at this point. If it starts keeping time poorly or if I lose a significant amount of power reserve I will send it in. Just curious on other members thoughts here?Cheers.
