Elgins best movement?
After hearing many times How Hamilton's 770 caliber is considered their best wristwatch movement, as far as design, performance, easiness to work on etc. It got me thinking, what movement would be Elgin's best wristwatch movement or at least would be comparable to the 770? My guessas far as competition to the 770would be would be the free-sprung balance movements. They were quite advanced for their time,and they were approved for railroad use. anyone have any thoughts?

IWC Cal. 62, 64T, 84, 86 and Cal. 87 in Cresarrow cases
I think these above IWC wristwatch movements in Cresarrow 14k and 18K and Platinum cases are nicer then the ones in Swiss cases. Does anyone agree with me? Also these cases are lower priced for some reason. Do they have to be the Swiss case to be original for collectors? I don't think so. I have 10 in my collection with Tiffany dials, a Raymond Yard dial and rare one with a Meylan dial. Cal.94 are also found in Cresarrow cases. All purchased on ebay right now that are beautifull. I have sold 4 others recently. I will post photos shortly.

Hi all,So for a wedding present, my future wife is planning to give me a very special watch. As such, I've been heavily dropping hints as to what I would like given her budget for me. My criteria are: dress watch, somewhat collectible (although resale value is a minor factor), and story (by which I mean which watch or watch company is a more interesting conversation piece).I've narrowed it down to the Breguet 5140BB, Breguet 5207BB or a Patek Philippe 5120G.The Breguets have a nice story to them but also have a somewhat dubious recent past. I'm afraid I don't know about Pateks very much except that they hold their value extremely well and is well respected.I'm leaning towards the 5140BB for aesthetic and cost reason but am a little unsure about Breguet's checkered history. Have they truly recovered from the mistakes of old?The Patek is very nice but it does break the bank by quite a bit. It's a very simple watch and visually I find the Breguets to be more interesting (I love the guill
