Post some photos of your favorite Rolex watch from your own collection. Luckily for me I only got one Rolex! That way I don't need to choose.
I recently wrote an article on Breguet - Supremacy-Returns-to-France. Really knowing so little on Breguet except a few 'highlights' and the very fact I have this one opportunity to actually touch and research Breguets timepieces, I am going to take my opportunity to try to learn as much about without any doubt the greatest horologists of all times. It is said; "To carry a fine Breguet watch is to feel that you have the brains of a genius in your pocket" - Sir David Salomons. And he should know he owned 'The Most' famous Breguet watch ever made, and the most complicated watch of its time. It was commissioned in 1783 as a gift for the doomed Queen of France 'Marie Antoinette' and completed in 1827, 34 yrs after she was executed. The movement is made of gold and steel, and is fully jeweled. It has a lever escapement with bimetallic compensation and helical spring. Complication include: perpetual calendar programmed to yr 2100, self winding mechanism with power reserve, minute repeater,
Its Saturday so what are you wearing for weekend?! I got my 320 on again!HAGWE!
So I've been scanning ebay for weeks for a nice APRO to replace by beloved RO Chrono I had to sell to fund the purchase of my new PP 5711/1R... I of course was looking for a bargain... never would have expected this however.. It was an independent guy (not watch seller on ebay), the account was 10 years old, with a similar rating to mine (190ish)... no negative reviews. He had this up for auction, so I asked what price he'd want to end the auction... he sent me $6500... I was dumbfounded... The watch is essentially brand new he said, was a gift and he's not a watch person and there are no dealers in Arkansas that even know what to do with it. He ships it Fedex overnight and I'll know for sure if this was the deal it looks to be tomorrow...AP RO 15400ST. OO. 1220ST. 02Did I do ok??? (ASSuming I didn't just get scammed out of 6500!!??)
Hi all,I've have been considering consolidating my small collection into one Patek Phillipe watch and wearing it daily. I am looking at a steel version of the 5712 and was wondering if any current/previous owners could shed some light on the watch. As I have never owned a Patek piece before, I was wondering whether the 5712 could be worn as a daily watch and whether it could withstand daily wear and tear.Is the 5712 as scratch prone as the AP Royal Oak models? Also, I am concerned that the movement may be a bit too fragile for me to wear it on a daily basis. Thanks in advance for any help.
