Bracelet Styles History
Here's a noob question for the experienced WIS's among us: Where did these common bracelet styles come from? I've only recently started paying much attention to watches and have noticed that certain styles of bracelets pop up over and over. Pretty much every brand I've looked at offers Oysters, Jubilees, Presidentials, etc, unless the bracelet is integrated and hard to swap. I associate those names with Rolex, but again I'm very new to all this. Were these all originally Rolex designs? When did they become so popular?-Mark

New Speedmaster Legend
Well, I was torn between the 16610lv/deep sea, and my 1 year+ desire to get a Speedmaster Legend. I think I was ready to pull the trigger on the 16610lv, but I wanted to look at the Speedmaster one last time.Well, I walked into the AD and they had the Speedmaster Legend. I tried it on, and it felt great but didn't have the weight and heft of the Deep Sea. I liked the quality, but the movement was really what was the most impressive. Seeing the stop watch going at the same time as the second hand reminded me off seeing the Tach and Speedometer in my 993. It was a done deal. As an added bonus, being a backyard racer, I liked the roots of this watch.The price they gave me on this watch which I have coveted for over a year was WAY too good to pass up. I pulled the trigger.This should hold me over.......until I convince the wife that my fledgling collection is a little light and incomplete without a deep sea.

Current WG Pepsi BLRO owners should not be upset
I'm not sure why current BLRO Pepsi WG users would be upset over this years release of a SS Jubilee Pepsi. You have a Pepsi bezel with oyster, which seems to be favored over Jubilee (I prefer latter). This is the ONLY way to have a Pepsi with an oyster and will likely remain this way.You have the black dial, which in my opinion looks better than the new blue dial, I have yet to see a side by side but I always like the way the black contrasted with the bezel.With one of the shortest runs , 3 years I believe, and not really a hot seller, this is one is destined to be a collectors item and maintain its value. It's not a common watch.I'm not sure about this last item, but the BLRO bezel seems to be more detailed with the transition of colors, in the renderings it looks like the new SS just cuts off from one color to the other with no transition. So, lately my watch collection has become very slanted toward “tool watches”, especially with a 50 fathoms mil-spec on the way. I really don’t have something to wear for dressier occasions and I’ve fallen out of love with my IWC. I’m not a giant DJ or DD fan. And I prefer to keep it under 40mm.I was thinking of trading in my IWC Portuguese and FOIS (plus cash) for one of the below:1. YM 116621 brown dial2. Vacheron patrimomy traditionnelle3.
