Baume & Mercier MOA8426 wrist watches news:
Much like one may buy a new suit or pair of shoes for an occasion.I hankered after the 2255.80 Electric Blue back in late summer of 2004 and following a close examination of it at an AD in Oxford Street, decided to order it from my regular dealer once I exited the store. While not initially intending to buy a watch for a forthcoming wedding of a friend that was scheduled for the following weekend, I found myself wishing and hoping that it would arrive in time for the wedding so I could wear it with my suit. Well it did, three days before the big day of my friends. So while it was not my original intention to specifically purchase the watch in respect of the occasion, I found myself willing its' arrival in time for it.Ever timed a purchase to coincide with an event or had it work out that way by chance pals?Y'all have a nice weekend now ZIN
I'm considering either an Omega or a Breitling and I'm just curious to know if it's just a trend toward the larger watches or if it has been popular for some time. I currently have my grandfather's old Accutron 218 which is really nice and is about a 38 or 39mm if I remember correctly, but the Breitling Navitimer I looked at was like a 42mm and the Omega's I've been looking at I believe are also in 42mm range. I even tried on one Breitling that was like a 46mm I think, way too big for my taste, but the Seamaster is a beautiful watch.
Thoughts on how much I should expect to pay on a new OEM Alligator black strap with buckle for my PAM 24? I have it on the rubber now and also have the kevlar which I will never use. Thought I would make the purchase of a nice leather strap so if I want to use it when I wear a suit or coat and tie it would look a little dressier. Thanks for your input.
looks like rolex owns a COSC plant from wiki:''Three laboratories now test the movements submitted by individual watch manufacturers to be granted chronometer status. They are in Biel/Bienne, Geneva and Le Locle. The Geneva and Biel laboratories are almost entirely devoted to testing Rolex movements.[citation needed] Although not all Rolex watches are chronometers, Breitling has claimed that since 2000 all of its production is COSC certified. Omega also has much of its production certified. Thus, based upon the movements used by Rolex, Breitling and Omega, the movement calibers that obtain most of the COSC certificates[citation needed] are the Rolex 3135[3] (since 1988) (and variants 3155, 3175, 3185, 4130) and 2235, the ETA 2892A2[4] (and variants) and Valjoux 7750,[5] each of which operates at 28,800 beats per hour.''
