Cartier W51024Q3 wrist watches news:
So I think I posted about receiving this watch a few weeks ago. A few days after, when I had a chance to wear it, I noticed it was running nearly 15 minutes fast per hour!A fellow forum member suggested that it was magnetized. I bought one of those cheap eBay demagnetizers, but it didn't help the watch any (though a number of screw drivers are now demagnetized). So I sent it into my watch guy and he reported that the movement was dripping with oil and the hairspring was stuck as a result.Anyway, got it back this morning and I set it before I left for work and it seems to have gained about 2 seconds 12 hours later. My watch guy did his usual magic, the crystal looks even clearer than before, the dial looks cleaner and the hands, hour makers, and case have that "like new" shine about them.I put it back on a Baldwin center expansion band (NOS stock from the 1960's).
Happy Thanksgiving U.S.A. - - - some of your pastimes are different - - - funny football games that go forever - - - strange game hitting balls with a round bat - - - flinging defenceless pumpkins for miles !!! But you are responsible for some pretty good things to. Mustangs, Corvettes, Playboy, Western movies, Rock n' Roll, electric light, Gruens, Walthams, Bennies, Victory in the Pacific(joint venture) and the list goes on. As a famous Aussie boxer once "We luv youse all!!" Have a good one Yanks!!!
I have seen pictures of ROOs with steel bracelets on models which were only available from (Authorised) dealers with a leather strap, and I have a few questions about possibly doing this to my watch...-I believe the ROO steel bracelets are larger and thicker than regular RO bracelets so a normal RO bracelet would not fit?-is it possible to buy a steel bracelet from an AD or does my watch need to be sent to AP? If the 2nd, do they keep the leather strap?-what is the approximate cost. Thanks in advance.
Just picked up the Omega Speedmaster 9300, 44.25 mm. I have owned this watch before and liked the size and look as well as the 9300 movement. I have always found the Omega bracelets to be somewhat deficient when compared to Rolex but it is not a deal killer. As I have re-geared my collection lately I wanted a Panerai and an Omega. I purchased a Panerai 422 last week and decided to go all in and bought this Speedy. I now have Rolex, Tudor, Tag Heuer, Panerai, Omega and Seiko represented. I am going to wear this Omega on the metal for awhile but will put it on a NATO and leather soon enough.
I'm drooooling at the possibility of a DD40 as my second and (if achieved) final Rolex for a loooong time.Poll question being: If you had the 116520(white dial), what would you reach for next?WG with Blue dial?ORRG with Olive dial?Rando third option being your suggestions! Yes I'm still banging this idea around in my head. The incoming is...definitely coming soon; but since I'm still waiting for the actual day I may as well torture the forum and bounce a little more off my favorite digital geek squad. Pics for good measure!
