The only thing I've seen for certain is that it is a high-tech material. Any other plastic parts (assuming the escapement is)? Any reason to be concerned about it? They seem to advertise whatever the escapement is made of as an improvement. Opinions welcome, but facts are what I'd really like. As in "Tissot announced the material is ..." I bought one in spite of knowing the answers because I couldn't find them and love the design aesthetically. Is this just something that will take time for purists to accept? I remember when Glock came out with their first Model 17 many people referred to it as "that plastic gun" and it took a while to gain acceptance.
I own a white dial 15400 RO and so far are perfectly happy with it. Unfortunately, in recent weeks, for some weird reasons, it has started to look thicker... Well, the main culprit is the 15202 Jumbo. A few of my friends just got this watch and wow... it's really thin in real life. Shaving that extra 2mm seems to make a world of difference. So, is it worth to pay 2X the price for the 15400 for the Jumbo or pay the price of another RO to upgrade to 15202? Anyone has done that before? Here's a photo of my 15400 :
This is after about 5 months of ownership of my RO15400. I am already very careful when wearing it and it is not even my daily beater. Though I kind of expected it, but still... Thankfully, no dings yet.
