- I love this watch. It looks wonderful and is so thin and well crafted. It draws comments whenever worn. So different. Have never seen one like it. A real keepsake.

Chopard 288525-3005 wrist watches news:
I have been buying and trading these watches for 10+years, and I wanted to post a few photos of some of myfavorites 18038 - Low 5 million serial, one of the first sapphire Day Dates.Mine has a very rare chocolate Vignette dial with everything that came from the dealer. I bought it NOS fresh out of a kindgentleman's safe in Thailand. I believe Mr. Holbrook took a photo of it this evening. This one is my current favorite......1966 - 1803. This is my daily wearer. Silver "Oyster" dial, with a beautifulextra long bracelet....1964 - 1803 with Dauphin hands in Rose Gold- one I miss a lot ...1970 - 1803 I got this safe king never polished with all boxes and papers.I sold it to buy the next one down ....1971 - 1803 Rose Gold, hacking, a wonderful watch that still brings atear to my eye when I look at it. This is one I should have kept ....I hope this was not too much gold for you guys :)These are just a few of the ones I have owned. Please post yours !
Does anyone have any experience with this German brand???I came accross while looking for flieger style watches. Hand made with Unitas movement. Limited Editions and reasonably priced.
I need a change of pace. This vintage Omega......is getting less & less wrist time since the Maurice LaCroix has the same yellow gold / brown croc strap combo. I don't have a solid gold watch with either a black, chocolate or charcoal strap. I'm thinking I want the chocolate on the vintage Jaeger LeCoultre that's being restored. I saw a Reverso GMT in yellow gold with a chocolate strap on vacation and loved it. Both the JLC and Omega use 18 mm straps so it can be interchanged. I'm still hunting for a vintage VC but that may be a while coming, and I love the idea of a black satin croc on that when I finally find one. Charcoal may go better with a SS or white gold watch though. The point is I'm up in the air so let's put it to a vote! What do you think would be the best look for this Omega?
I was attending my friends son's bris (ritual circumcision ) this morning and one of our mutual friends is a manufactures rep for several jewelry lines showed me his new 42mm Rolex Explorer with the polar dial. He also has a Bluesy TT so it's not like he is completely watch inept turned to me and asked what was I wearing so I show him my new AP Rubberclad. He says, who makes that? I look at him in semi shock and say its an Audemars Piquet. He says never heard of them.Seriously??? You are in the jewelry biz and are in stores almost everyday and have never heard of AP? Nope he says.Anybody else think this is kind of shocking given the history of the brand? I would figure most people wouldn't know an AP from a Timex but a guy who is in a jewelry store all the time? Are there not that many AP AD's out there that it would be rare to see them?Interesting...
I recently bought a Rolex Yachtmaster II SS. So far I'm loving it but I also came across a platinum day date a few days ago and that thing is HEAVY!! I love the weight of it. Now I'm wondering if rolex would ever make a full platinum yachtmaster 2 with the ceramic blue bezel... not liking the platinum bezel on the white gold models. What do you guys think about a full platinum Rolex yachtmaster II? Would it be a little too heavy?
