Chopard 274891-1003 wrist watches news:
New for 2015, Rolex has debuted a very attractive and sporty new version of the Rolex Yacht-Master that now comes on a new type of strap called Rolex Oysterflex. More on that in a second. This reference 116655 Yacht-Master is 40mm wide but there will also be the 37mm wide ref. 268655 Yacht-Master. Unlike the traditional Yacht-Master that has been known for platinum bezels this new 2015 Yacht-Master model will come equipped with a black Cerachrom (ceramic) bezel. We really love this new black and gold theme for the Yacht-Master that is both luxurious but not blingy. The Rolex Yacht-Master 116655 contains the in-house made caliber 3135 automatic movement while the smaller 268655 contains the 2236 automatic movement. Both are more or less functionally the same being three-hand movements with the date. What is very nice about the new Cerachrom bezel is Rolex's ability to craft it with the markers in relief - which is a new process that we are interested in hearing about. This adds a new cha
I just got back from a 3 day trip to NY and PHL. I am happy to report that I have my COSC certificate from Bienne. Maria sent it to me and she is extremely nice. Since it is somewhat late, I will wait until tomorrow to post some pictures.
I've got a 1967 Omega Speedmaster Professional, handed down from my father. I was wearing it on my trip this past weekend and, evidently, hit it on something while working my way to my flight in Minneapolis. I say evidently because when I got situated in my seat I checked the time and it was off by a large margin. I buckled up, secured my bag and checked my watch again, and it was an entirely different time. I pulled the watch off my wrist and saw the main hands swinging all over the dial! Still attached but not controlled by anything.I pulled out the crown and got some movement via the crown but only going backwards. There was little to no movement going forwards via the crown. What did I do?!I had the watch in a local shop recently. They had it 7 months, replacing the main spring and cleaning it up. I don't know if the current state of the watch is something for which they may be responsible, nor do I really want to take it back there. But they took 7 months of my life and $70
I just finished reading "A GRAND COMPLICATION", written by New York Time best selling author Stacy Perman. It is the story of a Patek Phillippe pocket watch commissioned in 1919 by capitalist Henry Graves Jr. "The Graves Super Complication" as it became known later sold at auction in 1999 for $11 million at Sotheby's. When I first saw the book on the shelf in the New Arrivals section of my local Library, I had to check it out, you just don't see that many books with watches on their covers that are well, actually about watches. Perman does a good job telling the story of Henry Graves Jr. The capitalist that commissioned the watch known as "The Graves Super Complication" and James Ward Packard, Industrialist and inventor of the Packard Motor car. She defines the culture of both men and what led them to commission and acquire the watches they did. For me, even being a history buff, these first few biographical chapter were a little slow. The author implies a rivalry that I just didn'
I have a Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph that is about 2 months from purchase. I was really looking for the non chrono. This watch is now retailing at $ 7200.00 and I would like to trade for a fairly new non chrono. If you know of anyone willing to make this happen, please advise.
