Sinn 356 Review
We've covered Sinn plenty in the past, so most of our readers already know the spiel when it comes to this German favorite. But outside of their line of rugged over-engineered mechanical wonders, Sinn is also known for producing some fantastic low-tech entry-level watches like the 556, the recent 104, and the discontinued 656. Most who handle these timepieces would agree that their level of finish puts other brands selling similarly priced watches to shame.However, none of these hold a candle to my favorite timepiece in their more affordable line-up, the Sinn 356 PILOT chronograph. In many ways, the 356 is everything one could hope for in a military-inspired tool watch, which shouldn't come as a shock since the design is reminiscent of a pilot chronograph favorite, the IWC 3706. There are a number of variants in the 356 line: the 356 Sa with sapphire crystal, the 356 PILOT UTC with, you guessed it, a UTC complication, the 356 Sa GR with power reserve indicator, and the 356 Sa PILOT II

It is not easy to describe the atmosphere and the fun we experience at these get-togethers.It is not about the door prizes, it is not about if we break a new record in attendance every time we have one of these and believe or nor it is not first and foremost about the watches either.It is about people - it is about new and old friends. I am very thankful that this hobbyof mine allowed me not only to enjoy a watch or two - but also meet somewonderful people and make some great friends.Together with New York City (3x) - this was already our 7th large gathering (Tampa now 4 x)For those that want to and have the time to participate - these events are notonly the GTGs meetings themselves. Distorting History - Horology?
I am just back a trip to Switzerland, the undisputed heart of watch design and making, so much so that it amazes me that companies with the standing of Hermes feel they must distort the truth of 'Horology'Flicking through a magazine in the airport lounge, I come across this lovely piece. Immediately I am impressed and delighted to see modern designs using the beautiful designs of the past.Especially one as super as this and with out any doubt the 'beginning of the wristwatch' an are of such great interest and passion to me.But on reading closely it says, and I quote"On this photo dating from 1912, Jacqueline Hermes wears the ingenious leather strap encasing a pocket watch 'designed by her father'.
