Yesterday after lunch, the wife and I dropped by the only Hamilton AD in the immediate area for a look-see. We were the only customers and the young man who waited on us turned out to be a watch junkie like me. He eagerly hauled out every Hamilton they had, which didn't include the large Boulton I wanted to see in person, but some interesting pieces such as the Viewmatic, two Venturas (regular and chrono), a power reserve, etc. He said if I wanted, they would order a Boulton for me, and if I didn't like it Hamilton would take it back, no obligation. I may do that. The Hamiltons I saw in person are more impressive than in even good photos. This experience is why I greatly prefer to deal directly with an AD.

Royal Oak - Regular Cleaning Regiment?
Sorry - Regimen.OK. Dumb question. Not as dumb as What is the average discount I should received on a stainless steel Rolex or Is it safe to wear my expensive watch in _____ City, Country etc...Now we know (after numerous comments from Padi) that the best way to clean a Rolex SS sports watch is with a soft toothbrush and gentle soap / warm water. No Veraet / fancy watch cleaners required.Same for a Royal Oaks? 15300 / 15400 / 15202?Reason I ask is I know the fine brushed surfaces can scratch if you look at them funny. Would a garden-variety toothbrush mar the fine brushed surface of a RO?What do folks to do in terms of regular cleaning?Thanks

5522A AR Coating?
I received a 5522A a couple weeksago (Love it). But as I just look at it over and over I realized the crystal has a hairline scratch in it. It is so small you can feel it and I am not completely sure it not on the underside of the crystal. I have some Scratch Genie for watches that is supposed to be able to polish sapphire crystal so I though of giving it a try. The only problem is I don¡¯t know if there is an AR coating on it. It looks to me like there isn¡¯t but the watchmaker at my AD said there was...there is no blue at all in the reflection. I really don¡¯t want to send it to Patek to get fixed for 3 or 4 months so I am considering trying this but obviously a little nervous about it. It did come with this slight scratch but most people wouldn¡¯t notice it.What are your thoughts?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hello everyone, I just thought I would share my surprise trip to Las Vegas for my family to see Beyonce at the MGM Grand this weekend and more importantly for me to go and shop for watches. Well since it was my birthday this weekend, I told my family that we were all going to an early dinner, but first we had to go pick up my brother at the air port who was here on a lay-over. When we got to the airport, I didn't realize how hard it was to get everyone out of the car to wait for him by the baggage claim (bad cover story) after some yelling, they all agree to wait at starbucks. I had pre-printed the tickets the night before and once in the airport I told them that we were flying to another city to have dinner and that they had to not look at their tickets until we got to the gate.
