At SIHH Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced a modern version of the Master Memovox International, originally created for the brand¡¯s 125th anniversary in 1958 and also known as the Memovox Worldtimer. The alarm disk on this Memovox (“voice of memory”) features different cities and regions. This piece will be produced in two limited editions in 18-carat pink gold and in steel. These new versions are fitted with the company¡¯s Calibre 956, which is the direct descendant of JLC’s Calibre 815, the first automatic movement with alarm introduced in 1956. This is a rare example of a movement that¡¯s still in production more than 50 years after its creation, though many improvements have been added over the years. In 1959, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 825 added a date aperture at 3 o¡¯clock. In 1970 the Calibre 916 replaced its swinging weight by a 360¡ã winding rotor and increased the balance frequency from 21,600 vph to 28,800 vph, which has become the norm for precision watches. Pre-Loved Day-Dates, a couple questions!
Browsing around Rolex's website, I've recently had my eyes on the Day-Date and have a couple questions:Is there a major difference between the models made in the 80's, 90's and 00's?What should you look for in a Pre-Owned?It seems that there are 10 times as many Yellow Gold DD's for sale as there are White Gold, is there a reason for this?Anyone with an DD experience and would like to chime in....Thanks in Advance!

I have never seen this before.
In the past 4 days I have seen something I have never seen before. Two automatic watches that have sweep hands that jump. This not the stutter you get with Miyota movements. This is a long pause (One was approx. 2 seconds and the other was about 4 seconds) then the sweep hand jumps. It was very consistent as though it was supposed to run like that, it didn't run smooth and then stutter. One was a womans Tag and the other was a watch I saw in a watch store, a brand I have never heard of before but it was $450.00 so it wasn't cheap. Is this something that is normal? Is it a feature that some automatics have that I have never heard of? Or are these quartz watches that have a battery saving feature (again, something I have never heard of) and the 2 people I spoke to about these watches didn't know what they were talking about? If I am missing out on something, please educate me. I am very curious to hear back on this.

How much does International Dial charge for a redial?
I want to get this Elgin 761 dial spiffed up.Any idea or ballpark figure on their charges (they don't seem to have a price list that I see on their site)?
