OK.Many of you know, one of my passions is 'The Genesis' of the wristwatch. No one truly knows a 'firm' date of when men started wearing wrist watches, but we know it started during the Boar War (1898 - 1903)However many of these 'so called' wrist watches were converted pocket watches, initially by just adding lugs to an existing pocket watch, or later by manufacturers mounting pocket watch movements in a wrist watch (with lugs).I have always loved this transition period, where the beautuful half hunter pocket watches were transformed into wrist watches. One of the few innovations that hasNOT been copied in modern watches. Why?
