Chopard 168459-3019 wrist watches news:
Folks,Any recommendations on a Rolex AD in the Bay Area, or who ships out of state. I'm looking at purchasing a Rolex Sea Dweller (not the new Deep Sea).Thanks!- Avi
Thanks guys. It helps to know all your secets. Sam has a few tricks of his own. Hiding it in plain site seems to be his favorite. I know how hard he works. I know this is his hobby and gives him pleasure. (This is called, "false sense of security". I am, waiting for his watch expenditures to equal the cost of that lovely five carat Asscher cut diamond. Last check was $170,000.00. So, Sam, go right ahead and think you are getting away with your little sneaky ways. You don't think we are called "the fairer sex" for nothing. Fair is fair.)Now, what was your wife's name? Good luck,Jan
OK.Many of you know, one of my passions is 'The Genesis' of the wristwatch. No one truly knows a 'firm' date of when men started wearing wrist watches, but we know it started during the Boar War (1898 - 1903)However many of these 'so called' wrist watches were converted pocket watches, initially by just adding lugs to an existing pocket watch, or later by manufacturers mounting pocket watch movements in a wrist watch (with lugs).I have always loved this transition period, where the beautuful half hunter pocket watches were transformed into wrist watches. One of the few innovations that hasNOT been copied in modern watches. Why? Is is SO beautuful.Like this silver cased 'Half Hunter' made as a wrist watch around 1915:Now the above watch, I suspect was originally made as a wrist watch and not a pocket watch with lugs added later. Now the BELOW watch, SURELY started life as a pocket watch. It is a magnificent :1895 Omega Half Hunter
I had some free time try it on last week, I felt it was lil big on my girl wrist. Over the weekend I copped one here, I think this is the biggest watch I can do.
Has anyone purchased a watch lately with an AD that had the new e-warranty system? If you have, what're your thoughts on the new tech?
