Chopard 207224-1001 wrist watches news:
Have had a red sub for years have rarely worn it, got into a conversation with my wifes jeweler about this old watch and he tells me to bring it by some time. Yesterday I took it in for him to check over. The good news he tells me its a real red sub, He actually knows the shop and person I aquired it from in a trade almost 20 years ago. He shows me the 1680 on top and a mid 2 million ser.# on the bottom area. They opened the watch up for me to inspect the movements and they were able to see some of the service dates back to 1975. The guy prints out these serial # sheets from watchbasics online and shows me where in time my watch was built. 1969-early 1970. I really never knew they were this collectable/ rare until talking to him. There was no bad news, He told me to check this site out. So, My question is, What to get next? I'm hooked!!!
Hello everyone, I just got an email from my parents letting me know that they'd gotten me a new Hamilton as a birthday present. They found it on Ebay, and I'm trying to figure out if it's a real one or if they just got taken. The item number comes up as correct, H74511333 but it says they're not available in the US. There is a second number listed, H001.74.511.333.01. The seller told them it is authentic, but when I enter the second H number it keeps redirecting me to replica watch sites. What can I look for to ensure that this is a real Hamilton and not a fake? Thanks!
This is not a hefty tool watch, it is not even a diver. It is not large and clunky nor showy. It is not very well known but in my opinion it is one of the best model of watches available around. In fact it might even be a possible watch option for a repeat of a famous Everest expeditionthe name says it all, and even though it has nothing to do with the Alps and the famous for their watches small little country nested in there, it is called Alpinist. It's from Seiko and it is made in Japan. When I first saw it I did not think much of it, then saw it again and saw all three models, the green dialed, cream dialed and black dialed watches. I decided I had to get them all. At 39mm it is not big by today's standards, but for certain applications it is better. It is light and fits easily under a shirt or sweather. It has a sapphire crystal and it is antimagnetic. It has a screw down crown that allows for 200m WR and legendary Seiko Lume. The movement hacks and hadnwind, being the Sei
So I was at the museum the other day with the family and we have an area called the European village. It has small houses and displays of different ethnic groups. I haven't been to the museum since becoming a WIS. I found a small Swiss shop and here are some shots through the window, you cannot go inside any of the homes. It's dark in there so trying to use a flash through the window isn't easy. It is a cool display but there is no description telling you anything about the Swiss culture or how the watch making buisness came to be.
I hope you guys don't mind me asking for some quick advice:Thinking about getting a PM Daytona. I found 2 at decent prices. One is unworn gray market (no AD stamped), the other is pre-owned, mint and AD stamped still under warranty. The gray is actually slightly cheaper - about 5% less. Given the choice, which option would you prefer? My instinct is to take the pre-owned, but I can't even explain why to myself...
