IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph Edition Watch For Volvo Ocean Race
IWC recently announced a new version of their Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph watch that came out about two years ago. The great looking piece is probably one of my top pics from the brand at this time and now is featured in an even more sporty skin. This version is done in collection with the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012. Beyond that I guess a new watch will be made?The rear of the watch has "Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012" engraved on the back. IWC is the officially timekeeper for the boat race events. In the race IWC is also the official sponsor of the Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing Team. Interesting that they sponsor the event and one of the teams.The titanium case and carbon fiber dial look good together and feel fitting with the high-end racing boats. Replacing Clasp Extension Pin
I went to put on my 2.5 year old Black Seamaster Chrono Diver and found the clasp extension split in two while opening it. There is a small flanged pin that links the double arm and single arm segments that simply snapped. It is a solid pin that is flanged on each end, so I am wondering the proper way to repair it? Would you go with a solid pin that is hammered on both ends to create the flanges and looks original, or a pin with threaded flange inserts at each end? This is probably a fairly common issue, the repair itself is likely very simple, but I want it done right and as close to OEM as reasonable. What is the correct way to repair this?Thanks.

Get your watch serviced every 5-7 years or not?
I don't know wether it's best to get your watch serviced every 5-7 years, as recommended, or as some say as long as it works and keeps good time don't send it for servicing, especially for pams I have heard a lot of negative or very negative feedback, what is your opinion on this issue?Personnally I would be more in the tendancy of not sending it as long as it works fine, the 4 watches that I wear the oldest has 1,5 years, of course my 3 pams are much older but i bought them 100% unworn brand new, in mechanical watches I have omega seamaster, 5 years, a very old omega gold chrono handwound which was bought by my father in 1955, but he wore it on special occasions, in no way as an everyday watch, and a Breitling chrono which is around 20 years, after 10 years it started loosing 5-7 minutes everyday, when I asked for a price of servicing I was told 800 euros, that was 10 years ago, since I wasn't wearing it anymore I didn't do it, so basically the experience I had is that the Breitling s
