Dior CD11211DM001 wrist watches news:
I've had this model in for review for a couple of weeks and am pretty impressed:The watch is very clearly targeting the Rolex Datejust/Day Date crowed - $23,000.00 retail price. It has screwed in adjustable links - first I've seen on an Omega. The caliber 8501 is pretty darn impressive and nicely decorated. But thanks to the Co-Axial escapement it's got a wonky beat speed - 25,200 VPH. Thought you guys might like to see the pix!
Hello all,I just picked up a used but not abused Citizen Eco-Drive. It's my second and I really like these watches. I've been on an automatic kick lately but this type of quartz technology is too cool to pass up. It's a Calibre 8700 with a few nicks and scratches but the crystal's clean and all the functions work just right. Here's a quick pic:Thanks,-Mark
My fourth Cushion Form (not counting the very first Hamilton which I bought in my fledgling days on eBay in 1998, and which I sold some time ago), this just arrived today. It is in very nice original condition (except for newer glass crystal), and sports the special #05 raised gold numerals and inlaid enamel dial manufactured for Hamilton by Fluckiger of Switzerland. It dates to 1929 by the movement SN. Many thanks to Tom Diss for the copy of the original dial diagram, which I've included here (and some may have seen before). Case and case back have matching numbers:I hope it's had a movement service since 1966! It joins these others in the collection:These 2 wgf:This last solid green 14K:
Source:F1 President Bernie Ecclestone Mugged in London; Hublot Stolen From His Wrist | WatchTimeFormula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone suffered a black eye when he was attacked by four men outside his London office around 10:30 p.m. on November 25. His girlfriend was with him at the time. The robbers made off with jewelry ¨C and Mr. Ecclestone¡¯s Hublot ¨C together valued at $314,000.Following the attack, Ecclestone sent a picture of his face along with a short note to Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver. The message said: ¡°See what people will do for a Hublot.¡± Since the two have a great sense of humor, they agreed to make an advert based on the photo and message. This Hublot ad will be a strictly one-off shot, appearing in today¡¯s Financial Times and International Herald Tribune. The ad shows the unretouched ¡°mugged shot¡±, along with Bernie Ecclestone¡¯s original commentary. The ad also notes that Hublot does not condone this method of acquiring one of their watches.
Okay, so certain TV vendors love to tout the weight of a watch - and one company goes so far as to engrave the gram weight on the case of it's stainless steel pieces. What's the deal with this?Personally, I grow very, very tired of having a heavy watch on my wrist. It's always a relief when I switch to a lighter - and usually thinner - timepiece. Of course, I have relatively slim and small wrists. I'm sure it's different for you 6-foot-plus giants ().Are heavy watches really a good thing? Or are they just a trend - like gigantic diameters? I recall a time when a small, thin watch was the height of elegance and watchmakers' skill. I still subscribe to that theory since smaller and thinner is harder and more expensive to build.Does anyone really want a 300 gram watch? Aside from you giants?
