Some love it. Some hate it. Some are indifferent about it. But whatever you think of the DDII in Platinum, in the end, it's a pretty awesome timepiece and pretty darn expensive for a DD. And, ya gotta love this ad if you're a Rolex lover. If I ever hit it big, and accumulate all the stuff I want, car-wise and furnishings for the house-wise, then maybe I'd consider one of these. Nahhhh, I still wouldn't spend THAT much on it. I'd get the WG Daytona with Meteorite dial instead. It's more my speed.Me in St Thomasjust trying it on, unfortunately that was all.One of these days...This watch has "me" written all over it"Buy it, Mister"Cheers,Steve R
Ok, not much reaction to which of the six new models do you like, so let's discuss which of the six on the front page of the Hamilton website do you dislike the most? (See hamiltonwatch)For me, the Codebreaker has not even a remote resemblance to a Hamilton watch. I dislike everything about it.
Hello - My first post herehope I do things right. Just the other day found a 1929 Elgin from a local shop here in Poland for almost nothing. Looking pretty good, I think (pictures from the seller on a local Polish site, so should be ok to use?)3021814531_3.jpg3021814531_5.jpgJust wondering a few things - The dial looks awfully good, I think, for it's age. Do you think it's original as is? And would it be a crime to refinish (probably...). Don't see any hint of brassing anywhere - should the engraving be enameled? Not quite sure what I've got here - is it one of the American Efficiency line? How does the movement (15j 428) look? I'm almost certain it's got a broken staff (the wheel wobbles slightly, it won't wind, but sets) - no problem to find a replacement there, but does it look a bit nasty/rusty? I think I got myself quite a little find here. The person I bought it from (who sells mostly Poliot etc.) seemed to feel there was little hope for it, as finding parts might be toughI hope i
by Wei KohPublisher and Editor in Chief, Revolution MagazinePATEK PHILIPPE AND BREGUET HOT ROD THE SWISS LEVER ESCAPEMENT WITH SILICIUMAs opposed to parties involving open-minded consenting adults, in the watch escapement lubricants are the enemy of a good time. In watch escapements as in life, lubricants need to be continually replaced at the major point of friction to prevent mishaps from occurring. Several manufactures have set about creating non-lubricated versions of the Swiss lever escapement using the material silicium, a mineral-based material that is very light, has good elasticity and has a low friction co-efficient. Initially these efforts have been focused on the area where lubricants wear out the fastest because of sliding friction: the escape wheel. This year silicium has also been used to create hairsprings and levers. Silicium is created in the Institute Microtechnology (IMT) and the Centre Suisse d¡¯Electronique et de Microtechique (CSEM), two separate entities that s
I'm thinking of part exchanging a Tudor Fastrider black shield (leather strap) 42000CN, Tudor Blackbay Black (leather strap ETA version) 79220N, a 116622 blue dial and ¡ê5500 cash for a Daytona 116509 grey arabic dial (Rolex serviced Oct 2017)All watches have B&P.Fellow members, should I do it? Bit of background, I have 8 watches but find I only wear 3 of them regularly.116713LN, VC Overseas Deepstream and the 79220N.I don't wear the 116622 much since getting the 116713, I sold a 114060 as I found it too similar to the 79220N. (I initially chose to keep the 79220 over the 114060 as they are harder to find)I have a 16610LV which I don't wear for some reason, just never seem to choose it. The other two are Casio and Seiko so not worth selling.I like the idea of having different complications in my collection, the Fastrider is the chrono but after buying it it really doesn't do it for me and neither does the Omega Speedmaster. (My Seiko has a power reserve!) I really want a top piece t
