If there is anything that this industry has done to me, it is to give me an incredibly skewed perception of wealth. I've lately realized that I have a very poor notion of "affordable" and "normal." When you notice that an entry level mechanical timepiece that you'd hesitantly give to your father hoping he wouldn't think it is too simple can cost $2,000, you probably know what I am talking about. In the scheme of buying products, $2,000 is expensive, and this version of the Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon is so many more times that in price.Greubel Forsey produces many watches that are a close neighbor to $1 million, proving themselves to be harsh mistresses. As unattainable as she is in this shiny black dress, this black titanium piece of horologia did steal my heart when spending just a few romantic moments together at SIHH 2013. Is it but a mere horological flirt? Perhaps my tastebuds should have never been exposed to this type of rich flavor? Am I doomed forever to see anything but

Franck Muller Mystery Watch
Starting with a green spring, moving to the hot yellow colors of the summer, then on to reds of the fall, and finally to the cold blues of the winter. The stones flow on to the lugs, and baguette style stones of all different colors make up the hour markers and with trillion cut stones as the hour and minute hands. The rest of the watch is totally covered in diamonds. The "Mystery Double" (ahem, 'double mystery') part of the name comes from the two discs that moves the hour and minute indicator hands, rather than the watch having traditional hands.

Omega newbie...a few questions
Hey all, former Tag 2000 Quartz owner looking to upgrade to the SMP 2254.50and I have a few questions:1.) Is the 2254.50 really that much better of a timepiece than the new Aquaracer Auto? I'm looking for my first automatic diver "keeper piece" until I can afford my grail (Rolex Sub).2.) How easy is it to change the bracelet to the rubber strap? I enjoy lots of water sports and would like to change it up!3.) On the same note, while looking at straps for Omega I noticed that they are very expensive. Is there anywhere they can be found for a better price?My Tag as always worked and when I got my tax return I figured it was time for a new one so I went to see my local AD, who is also an Omega AD. I'll be honest, I did not even make it to the Tag display since the Omega case was first and the black dial of the 2254.50 just seemed to grab me. The SMP felt like it was made for my wrist. I could go on and on but to cut it short, it is currently on hold and only a matter of time.BTW:

After years of wanting/waiting it arrived yesterday. I was torn between date/no date and after reading numerous posts I decided I wanted the classic and clean no date. I couldn¡¯t be more pleased.
