When it comes to one-handed watches, Meistersinger is the first brand that should come to mind. Their line of watches over the years has grown to refine what a one-handed watch is, offering varieties of utter simplicity, up to ones with surprising uses of complications, such as jump hours and mono-pusher chronographs. I was wondering if you could tell me anything about this watch. It was my Dad's and I'm pretty sure he bought it before 1970, or at the very latest the early 70s. It came in a red leather (I think) box. I have found similar watches like it but not with both the date and the numbers 6-9-12 on the face, not even on Omega's own website of their vintage watches. Wifey's Bday Gift. Input Please.
Ok. So my wife is turning 40 in a couple of months and I've decided to get her a watch as her gift. I've gotten it down to 2 models. Got some input from her in passing as we window shopped. I'm trying to decide between an AP ROO SS white or a Blancpain Leman model in white. Both have diamonds on the bezel. The AP comes on a rubber strap and the Blancpain comes on either stain or alligator strap. The AP is much more sporty while the Blancpain is a bit more dressy, but sporty enough I think to wear casually. She already has dressy pieces from JLC and Cartier. Here is my dilemma. The Blancpain is an automatic movement and the AP is a Quartz. Is it worth paying this much money for a quartz movement? She likes the idea of a quartz because she doesn't have to adjust the time before wearing it. I just have a hard time getting my head around it. I just wish AP would make this model in an automatic without the chrono. What do you guys think?
