Renovated Omega Museum in Biel Reopens
The Omega Museum in Biel reopened on May 3, following several months of renovation. Originally opened in January, 1984, the museum is the oldest dedicated to a single watch brand. Located just opposite Omega¡¯s headquarters in Biel, it features items representing the brand¡¯s entire history, from Louis Brandt’s 160-year-old watchmaker¡¯s bench to the Olympics, moon landings, James Bond, and beyond. Omega president Stephen Urquhart likened the period of renovation to an archaeological dig. ¡°Not only did we renovate the whole museum but we also restored many of the period features of this listed building. The project gave us a chance to review our entire collection. 5960 Durability
Does anyone have a feel for the durability of the 5960 as a daily wearer? Let's say you're wearing it 4-5 days a week to work / dinners. Is the watch fine for that, or is it fragile? I would think it would be fine, but I don't personally know anyone (or read about) anyone wearing one all that much. Any thoughts? Got a new blingy G-- maybe the dressiest G I've ever seen...
I've been interested in getting a silver metal G-Shock (digital, solar and atomic) for a while since all my other G's are black metal and/or black resin, but the ones that are all metal are way too expensive and mostly analog or ana-digital. The ones that are affordable have way too much silver/gray resin showing on the case I wanted something that gave the appearance of being all metal. The other day I stumbled across a GW610DAJCP-1. I'd never seen or heard of it before, but it had what I was looking for and was at a good price, so I jumped on it.I'm happy with it: it's bright and blingy and probably the dressiest G I've ever seen.The case has a standard G-Shock's thickness, but is smaller in diameter than any of my other G's, though it's lug to lug length is equal to or greater than some of my bigger G's. Seeking Seiko Sea Urchin information
Hi all, I have seen the SNZF17K1, Sea Urchin and realized that it looks very similar to the Seiko SKX0031, Seiko Submariner. When did the Sea Urchin come out and what are the difference between the two watches? Wonder why Seiko has two watches that look too similar to each other.Thanks.
