Ebel Classic 28mm

Unknown Omega Constellation
I was wondering if you could tell me anything about this watch. It was my Dad's and I'm pretty sure he bought it before 1970, or at the very latest the early 70s. It came in a red leather (I think) box. I have found similar watches like it but not with both the date and the numbers 6-9-12 on the face, not even on Omega's own website of their vintage watches. Got myself a new vintage Hamilton! Starts to"D" and ends with"rake"
Finally got that Hamilton today!I believe it's a 1936 (or 1934, i can't recall off the top of my head) yellow gold plated Drake. With an enamel dial.The case wasn't in as good as shape as I thought, you can see some wear on where the straps go, other then that all the gold still looks good, even on the back and lug it's still strong.It's ticking like a beauty, currently it's sitting next to me and I can still hear it, it doesn't look slow or sticky at all. I have it about 5 turns and off it went! The second hand looks like it's doing fine and the minute hand is moving as it shouldHere's the pictures I took so far, i've yet to open it.

Well, we had some success with the "Faves" thread; if only to prove that it's easier to select a life partner than make a decision as to a favourite watch.........Got me to wondering - what would be the last Hamilton you would consider buying? And why?Same rules - modern or vintage - doesn't matter. No ties for equal least favourites, make a decision! Please bear in mind that one man's trash is another man's treasure - so please be objective with your criticism.As for me?Well, many of us (me included) would tend to cringe at those vast chunks of iron-mongery from the 70s with weird coloured faces, large rectangular hour markers and hands. But at least they get noticed so they must have some sort of "presence" and therefore I can't rule out owning one.....I guess it would come down to a bland, low visual impact watch. Probably round, with plain baton or dagger markers, stainless steel and no complications. Something like this:ebay image

5980 Incoming Pictures
As promised, the 5980 1A black dial which is actually more gray than black. I need a 1.5 link and then it will be perfect. Size and weight seems to be about the same as a Rolex Sub and it's comfortable. Now I need to go time something. Here are a couple pictures.
