Ebel 1215274, 9255f41/5125 wrist watches news:
A collection that took more than 25 years to amass, and consisted of more than 5,800 Swatch & Art pieces sold on Tuesday for USD $6 Million. The winning bidder was a European institution, claiming the win after over 30 bids with two other opponents in the action. 1 OF 2 Swatch has been making Swatch & Art models since 1983 as collectible watches inspired by pop culture. Artists, musicians and fashion designers have contributed designs over the decades. An example is the model above, designed by artist Markus Linnenbrink whose work can be found in museums all around the world - in addition to people's wrists, thanks to Swatch. The seller of the "superlot", Mr. Paul Dunkel said, “I have been very happy and emotional to see the international interest in my collection over the past months. This is a true testament to the universal appeal of Swatch. I would like to deeply thank Sotheby’s for their hard work, as well as my art advisor, 1858 Lim
Never understood why we don't see more of thoseI like it and I can't imagine I'm the only one
I have been reading in these forums for quite awhile. I have noticed that many of you enjoy vintage watches. Anyway, tonight I was looking on ebay an found an older Elgin Sportsman automatic wind watch. The auction ends in 11 hours. The bid is at about $25 with shipping. What is a decent price for this watch? Does anyone know?
So, I tried on some RO's today and found something odd. I have a 6.5 wrist that is more oval than round. I tried on a 41mm RO and bracelet wrapped well around, I tried on a 37mm RO and it was the same nice wrap. So, they had a gold blue dial 39mm and the bracelet couldn't wrap my wrist. It was bending in on itself and not touching my skin all the way around. Anyone else ever experience this? Basically 41mm is too big for a dressy watch for my wrist and the 37mm is a little small, but the bracelet on the 39mm was odd fitting.Thoughts?
Just purchased a 2005 Panerai 188 Daylight with a white dial. Box arrived with all paperwork, but if you look at the enclosed picture of the warranty registration form you will read ....CHRONO AUT ALL/NOIRnoir means black, if I remember my french correctly, but the dial on this watch is white. And what does AUT stand for? Any ideas? Thanks in advance...
