Ebel 1215646 wrist watches news:
It was only a matter of time before Hamilton decided it was time for a real rehash of the classic Ventura watch. This is not to be confused with now defunct Ventura watches. The Ventura watch model from Hamilton first came out in the age of pre-quartz electronic watches. When "electronic" watches meant something futuristic and exotic. It was the spacey look of the watch that really mattered though. At the time, it was really "out there." Shaped like a shield on its side - many with the popular two-tone leather strap - the Ventura has been in production for over 50 years. It is funny that only more recently have the watches become mechanical. The 50th anniversary Hamilton Ventura sported a partially skeletonized face and ETA 2824-2 automatic mechanical movement. The Ventura has screen time in at least one film. It was worn by the heroes in the Men in Black movies, going along with the retro space-age theme. Over 50 years, very little changed with the look of the Ventura case itself, whic
Does anyone know if there are any precautions that one should take with carrying or wearing their auto or mechanical watches through airport security. I am afraid of the magnetic fields that may throw off the mechanism. I don't want to wreck my X Wind. .info/forums/i.../confused1.gif
I am not believing what a timekeeper this thing is. I set it by the official U.S Clock after I got it home last week. This morning, some four days later, it is 3 seconds fast! I don't have an automatic or another hand-winder nearly this accurate, and this with a watch whose movement was sent for finishing in March, 1923. Maybe Hamilton Electric or someone else with expertise in pocket watches can tell me if I am unusually lucky, or what?
Hi there folks -I was left a collection of watches by my mom and I finally went through them. When looking for information on the mens' watches, I don't have any trouble but the ladies' watches are another story.I realize I will have to get over my fear of opening the backs of these, but for now, can someone tell me something about this particular hamilton? I can tell by the research I've done, it's probably from the 40s, but I cannot find this specif design anywhere. And believe me, I've looked (for several hours online..haven't made it to a bookstore yet).Oh, and THANK YOU to the person that uploaded all those catalog scans ;)-Karen
Hello!I just arrive from China, now I'm in Russia. Las time, in Shanghai airport, not for the first time, I noticed that something was bad in the bezel of my Ploprof. I can turn the bezel, but sometimes it's hard. The first time, I said, no problem. But now... IT'S IMPOSSIBLE to turn it. Nearly fix. I think, something is bad under the bezel, some problem. I'm always traveling and this watch is always with me, looks like I should leave the watch some time in the spa.And just say one more thing, I DON'T KNOW WHY! when I put the watch under hot water, rotate the bezel one or to times... NO PROBLEM! I can use the bezel nearly for three hours, the bezel is working well, but after this time, fixed/blocked again.Any solution? Did anyone notice the same in their Ploprof?Best regards
