Is Rolex hurting themselves? I know they are hurting us.
It may just be the market but things aren't looking good for trades and selling. I am not trying to be negative, I am just trying to prove a point.When I got my first Rolex Sub-No date in 1992 I wore it for 9 months and traded it in for what I paid for it when I upgraded to a GMTII. Now, you will lose 1/4 to 1/2 unless it is a stainless Daytona when you drive it off the lot(so to speak).My dad paid $1200 for his first Sub-No date he bought in 1980. When I bought one in 1992 it was $2000. That is and increase of $800 dollars in 12 years. Now 16 years later they are $5450, that is an increase of $2450. Is it just me or is this pushing the ridiculous, it is the same watch except it has the COSC stamp. Of course all Rolex's have went up as much. I love Rolex and I love the idea of buying one new from an AD, but in looking at the pre-owned market for my S/P YM that I bought new last May and looking at the market of all Rolex's but the Stainless Daytona. I think the depreciation is as bad as

A Question of Winders...
Hi Everyone!I know there's a forum for winders but I find it very Orbita-centric (perhaps for good reason) but the problem I'm having is finding the right winders for my small collection. So far I have the 5167A, the 5130G and I plan, in the not too distant future, a 5146 (color is still up for debate). I looked on the Orbita website and for the 5130, which has Caliber 240 HU, they say that "our Double and Quattro models do not perform satisfactorily for this caliber." I called them for an explanation but, frankly, did not really feel satisfied by what I was told.In sum, could someone point me in the right direction? In addition to my two PP's (soon to be 3) I have a Rolex Explorer II, a basic Roadster and my wife has a couple that could go on as well I don't necessarily need the absolute best from an esthetic perspective but heck, this is a forum for Patek owners so I want to make sure I get the absolute right ones.As ever, sincere thanks for your help!Ben
