- Can't beat this choice for the money. Even after having 5 links removed for fit, I still found the watch to be a great value. I have already gotten a compliment by a stranger loving the watch. The slight inconvenience of having to have it resized was well worth it. I have to resize all my watches.

Hello all.I finally snagged my first vintage Seamaster. It was a private sale through another watch forum. I hope I did okay. Here are some pictures for you:Dial looks like it's original with patina:Side shot:Inside the caseback:And the 353 movement:While the calendar register doesn't seem to line up perfectly, I hate to have to mess with the movement....I put it on my watch timer and got this reading:I've already got an ostrich strap on the way to replace the black it came with. Would you folks bother to have the calendar function looked at? How about a little polishing of the case? I'm open to your suggestions and opinions. Thanks!!!
Here's the quandry: there's this cool watch a friend of mine from another forum has. It's a wire lug conversion of an early 20th century Waltham, and the width of the opening for the strap is 16 mm. It came on a nylon NATO looking strap but that isn't classy enough for it. I've seen a few leather straps with all sorts of grains that can wrap over the wire lug and then get clamped down but I'm looking for alternate suggestions in case something out there is worth checking out. Here's the watch:and here's a better view of the wire lug:Let's see what we can come up with. I'm hoping Scott and Thomas can shime in, and of course all other opinions are welcome!
I had tried both models on long before I purchased a 41 but was wondering why Rolex decided to dump the II for the 41 ? The hour makers on the II dial seem bigger than on the 41 which I like ,, what other differences are there between the two. The 41 rides the wrist much better than the II IMHO...
