The intersection of politics and popular culture with wristwatches is undeniably fascinating. I mean, that's basically why I have a job. Equally fascinating is the pursuit of these timepieces at the center of this interesection by watch collectors, dealers, and auction houses. There are a handful of documented important wrist and pocket watches out there that the world at large is still looking for. What I mean by that is they have not been publicly sold or located, like say Eric Clapton's platinum 2499, Gandhi's Zenith pocket watch, or Steve McQueen's 5512 Submariner (we won't get into his seemingly never ending supply of Monacos), though we know they exist via a blurry old 35mm photograph, or word of mouth. Hesalite scratch removal -- really bad
I'm either (1) SUPER hard on watch crystals, or (2) this Hesalite scratches awfully easily. With more than a dozen daily wearers, and with most of my watch time spend in an office, I'm very surprised at how bad this crystal looks. I know the pics make it look really bad due to the angle of the light. But please believe me: It looks that bad at pretty-much any angle.If I replace it with a new Hesalite, it'll only end up looking this bad again in a year.So, which should I do? -- give it to my omega boutique for a Sapphire replacement (if there is such a thing)? Or just keep it, & continuously use some kind of home remedy? THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE!

New arrival of a old daytona 116520
I am fortunate to find a used 116520 fullset with a reasonable price. I am trying to find the early year of black 116520 due to the following: 1.thin hands,2.the sub-dial rings are actually thinner than the newer model as well to fit the thin hands like 16520,3.more like a grey color less reflective sub dial rings instead of the colorful one in later 116520,4.the silver hour markers are more flat and not as reflective as the newer models, 5.the words and minute markers are super bold and serif, this makes a big contrast to the black dial.
