Elgin watch model?
Just got this one back from the watch doctor today:Not sure what model it is but I like the engraved sides and the "coin edge" detail around the bezel:Movement dates to 1930. Elgin database says its a 7 Jewel model 485, size 4/0.And the case was made by the Illinois case company for Elgin:Anyone know what model name or number this one is? thanksMark S.

Thinking of flipping the 15400
A bit of background, I have been downsizing my collection lately to put money into my apartment, it is the only debt I have and I want to be debt free by year end.Over time I've had many watches from many brands, too many to list, at one point I had 10 in rotation. I have downsized to what you see in my signature and am thinking of selling the Vulcain and Panerai. That would leave me with four, three actually because the Santos is an 80s two tone model that I don't wear, it belonged to my late father so I will keep it forever. I will get something else to have four in rotation, been thinking of getting a SubC (owned one at one point) and I was just offered a very nice GMT coke from 2001 in pristine condition.Now to the real issue, as much as I like the 15400 it really doesn't fit me right (even after getting a 1/2 link), a 15300 I used to own felt much more comfortable and the size was just right. Better to sell now or wait until later?
I have a titanium Omega Seamaster (circa 2004 or so) that has an electric blue dial. This watch has been discontinued and I'm seeing some on eBay go for $1,500 to over $2,000. My question is this: is it better to sell it now, or will I have the chance to sell it for more if I wait 5 or 10 years? Would this type of watch grow in value, or decrease over time? It's not a limited edition or anything special, but it also wasn't an extremely popular watch.

My wife got me a new (my first from an AD) Sub C date for my birthday back once Nov. I have been trying to come up with something to put on the back and I¡¯m not coming up with anything. You guys have any suggestions? The last one she had the idea to put ¡°Not for Sale¡± which I still traded and she¡¯s still laughs about haha see belowI thought of using 143 or 1-4-3 since it¡¯s our number (google 1-4-3 lighthouse if you¡¯re curious) Or since it¡¯s a heirloom and I¡¯m a captain I thought of ¡°Capt. And my name¡±Or something like Happy Birthday from my wife and daughters name? Total loss, I¡¯m sure some of you creative minds can do better!! Ideas ???
