Gevril Gevril 9956 wrist watches news:
Three Swiss guys were drunk one night after partying and they came up with this watch model and brand idea. I am not making that up, that is what the press release clearly says. Their combined intoxicated intelligence seemed to agree that it was their personal mission in life to realize the first ever high-end watch borne out of pre-Columbian Latin American culture. The trio drew influence from things they had seen in Mexico and chose to focus on ancient Mayan culture. Of the most provocative elements of ancient Mayan culture is their calendar and view of how the world began (and will end). All that was just too cool for the bored young men so they decided to make the watch in honor of Kukulkan - the feathered snake (guy) of Mayan lore.A pyramid in now Mexico is built to honor Kukulkan. There are engraved statues of his image there. An image that is replicated on the Kulkulkan watch on the dial and the back in high relief. The "219" name of the brand refers to some Mayan calendar numera
one off the first things that attracted me too omega was my grandfathers one he won it in a raffle in 1940 befoure he went was shipped to india so he could be trained as pilot in the RAF. he later wore the watch in his american made thuderbolt plane when he protected british ships from japanise bombers. after the war he returned home too scotland and became a head teacher off a school he worked there until he retired. he is now in his 80s and still wears his 60 year old omega too this day. i asked him about it and he told me that he had sent it to the watch shop too be cleaned and oiled twice in the time he had it. he says that his wife and his watch were the only things off value he ever wonit makes me sad cause he is in intesive care at the moment and it looks like his omega will out live him but i will allways remmber him as a kind and brave man who faught for his country and educated thousands off childrenthats why i wanted my omega in the hope that it will be a lucky charm and i
I need to send in My 1 year old Super Avenger for service. It was running about +5 seconds. now it is at +10 seconds. The rotor seems to be making more noise as it free spins. It is under warranty from the AD that I bought it from. Has anyone had to send their watch in to Breitling for repairs? How long of a wait should I expect. Where would you recommend sending it to? Here in the States or to the service center in Switzerland? I hat to send it in but I want it to be right. Any advice or information would be appreciated. Thanks
Look what the cat dragged it. Hopefully I'll get better photos later.
I recently picked up this pre-loved Omega Speedmaster in good condition and for a good price. It came with a SS bracelet which didn't do anything for me so I switched it out for this Hirsch leather strap which gives it a completely new look. The thing that most attracted me to this watch was the triple date function, something I had been missing in my collection until now. Here are a few quick shots I took with my pocket camera before I get it into my light box later this week. Enjoy the picsDrew
