Girard Perregaux 49970-11-231-HD6A wrist watches news:
Sowhat's going on over here?
I'm new to this forum, but I have gone a little nutty buying Speedmasters lately. In the last few weeks I have bought the following: 105.003-64, 105.003-65, 145.012-67, and now an 861 from 1969. I'm planning some service and part swapping, etc for the watches, but I would like to know what you Speedmaster guys think of patina. The 64 pre pro watch is totally original...in fact it hasn't been serviced since 1977.....you read that right....1977. It's still running strong and keeping good time, but it'll be off for service after the first of the year. That's quite a testament to these watches, I think. Anyway, that watch has the typical darkened markers on the dial, and I am debating whether to leave them exactly as they are or have Jesse in Albany clean them up and re lum them. Sure it would be nice to have them stand out from the dial...and glow in the dark, but what do you all think in terms of value down the road...and just plain what you like best. I know I don't want the di
I have that itch again and the SARB031 keeps catching my eye it reminds me of some of the vintage Omega Seamasters from the '50s and '60s. Are there any owners out there who can give me a few thoughts on their experience with this watch? Would you recommend it? Thanks.
This is the latest addition. I was looking for a good, affordable chrono and this SND127 seems to fit the bill.
Rik,I have a Ball EMII Diver which I sent back to Ball for service a couple of months ago. The watch performed much better after being serviced (a complete service according to Ball USA). Now when I try to wind the watch using the crown, it feels as though the clutch is slipping and the watch doesn't wind properly. If I move the watch in a circular motion, it does wind using the auto-winding feature. Unfortunately, this seems to make the watch gain time while I am spinning the rotor. Is this a common problem with ETA 2535-2 movememts? I am confident Ball USA would try to make the watch right with another warranty service. Given the cost of shipping it insured from Cincinnati to Florida, I am considering having it serviced locally.Any advice will be appreciated. You seem to know the art of watch repair "inside-out".Thanks in advance,Jeff
