Girard Perregaux 90240-11-811-BA6A wrist watches news:
Just got my Deepsea Sea Dweller over the weekend and I have to say I am enjoying the watch very much. Over the last 3 days, I've worn it through one round of golf and to work everyday and it's gained an average of 2 seconds per day, well within COSC standards and perfect for what I wanted.I'll start off by saying that this is a big hunk of metal. I've been wearing a Rolex Date every day over the last 15 years and I wasn't sure I could pull off wearing a DSSD as my daily wearer. This was a big change for me going from a 34mm relatively flat watch to a 43mm tower.I've tried it on at the AD, but it always seemed too large for my wrists but I kept going back to it because it was very appealing to my eyes. After I bought the watch and got it sized, I find it's the perfect size for me. When trying it on at the AD, I never sized the bracelet so it always seemed to large. Lesson learnedyou never really know how a watch will look until it's been sized for you.Anyways, I was taking some pictures
Some pretty good editing in this:youtube/watch?v=Vn9F7...eature=related
I just picked up this 1922 Sterling Silver cushion - with the 986A movement. Had my watch guy give it the once over. Actually, he told me about it and I purchased it through a friend of his. Here are a couple of pictures:I also picked up this Greenwich a while back. Here is a seller picture:And a couple of "after" shots:I don't know why, but the Greenwich really appeals to me - other than the Hastings, not many other Hamilton's look anything like it from that era. I just think that stepped bezel and the "rounded square" shape are classic. Thanks for looking!Edit: I don't know why I didn't see this before (especially as I was taking the picture and imposed in the background is a very similar if not identical watch!), but obviously the hands are not original. The good news is that I have a very nice coral filled Wilshire with gold tone hands in this shape (which I know were not original and have been looking for blue steel replacements). It appears that I can (well, not me actually) j
This is a very good looking watch. Anyone know if it has a screwdown crown?
I was in town and visiting my AD so I decided to check out their inventory. I was glad to see a new 41mm royal oak since I hadn't had the chance to try it on. I was also my first time trying on a forged carbon offshore, wow, that watch is amazing. They also had a panda on the bracelet, a bumble bee, and quite a few others but I only managed to get wrist shots of these 2.
