Girard Perregaux 2585 wrist watches news:
As some of you may know the 5960 has been my grail for a long time, almost from the time that I was released. Prior the 5960 I appreciated the mechanical aspect of Patek, but the designs left me cold. I knew that Patek was ¡°The Best¡± but I had a hard time appreciating the simplicity of a simple time only Calatrava, and the perpetual calendars were all a little too mature for my taste. It seemed to me that Pateks were designed to be worn by my father or grandfather, not me. All it took to forever change my mind about Patek was one single ad on the back of a Robb Report ¡°Watch Collector¡± issue. I couldn¡¯t believe that was a Patek, the dial was so modern with its minimalistic windows for the calendar, far cleaner than the 5146. The mono counter of the chrono was cleaner than 5070. Even the choice of colors was very different, slate grey with a touch of red and blue. I could hardly believe this was made by the same Patek Phlilippe that made watches like the 5140 that I felt only older men
Amazon.com: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241188 AirBoss Mach VI Chrono Watch: WatchesI love the design of this watch but it is out of my budgetDoes anyone know of any watches that have a similar design for less than $1000? Must have blue dial and black tachymeter bezel
I guess not many words required on this one! Every AP collection needs one.
So I'm in Chicago and wanted to get my Pam 392 serviced, there is a slight scuff on the bezel and the tiniest of chips on the crystal. Its been running just a tad slow since I got it and I just picked up another watch so figured I would get this serviced so its perfect. Question is should I send to Panerai? I heard they are pretty pricey and could take awhile. Or have a local watchmaker take a look (if I go this route he won't replace the crystal, would need to send it to panerai to get a authentic panerai crystal is what one guy said) also any recommendations for someone in Chicago to work on it?I'm thinking of selling it too so want it nice if I decide to go that route, is it even worth refinishing or selling as is? I'm the original owner and have the box and all paperwork so it should make it easier.
Was looking at classifieds this morning and noticed an 1803 listed. The dial said Datejust but at the top was the day window? Can someone explain this to me.
