NEWS COSC announces record figures for 2007 August 05, 2008 The Contr?le Officiel Suisse des Chronom¨¨tres (The Official Swiss Control Office for Chronometres) has announced record figures for 2007. The number of certificates registered in 2007 was up 13.3 per cent from 2006 with a total number of 1,538,676 registrations. The top three companies applying for registration at COSC were Rolex with 728,255 certificates, Omega with 341,161 and Breitling with 222,650. This important growth, and the accumulation that followed, has resulted in almost full capacity for the COSC in some areas, which will mean adjustments and investment. The number of movements equipped with additional modules has also meant that changes in the control process have been necessary. Hello all, want to add my wife's collection with an AP lady offshore so that I can get away with more purchases this year. She wears her watch daily and a little on the rough side (I hate it when she hits her watch to the underside of a table but she does this relatively often). I am wondering how well either of these will go with a few knocks here and there. Will the fc ceramic combination be a more lasting choice or a more fragile ones? She usually does not bang her watch hard but sometimes it happens. Thanks in advance.
I haven't posted in awhile but just made my first vintage purchase ever (thanks to Achova). It's not a Rolex but I am already quite please with the new buy. It's a late 1960s Omega Pre-Moon Speedmaster with the cal. 861 movement. It's in great shape and I took it off the bracelet to put on a horween strap (originally purchased for my sub-c, though they didn't go well together). I have to admit that I now have the vintage bug and will probably only purchase those now. Hello Red Sub...I've included my Sub-C here so that there's some Rolex content.
