BRM Timepiece Is Love Letter To Motor Oil
In love with Gulf Racing, the?BRM CNT-44-GULF watch is brimming with oil. Everyone knows that most mechanical watch movements contain oil in them as a necessary part of machine lubrication. So yea, most all watches already have oil inside of them. But not quite like this. For oil magnates and elephants (you oil people know what I am talking about), this is a timepiece that celebrates good ol' black gold with a small container of motor oil right in the dial. This may just be BRM's most intense wristwatch homage to motor sports ever.French BRM makes many of its timepieces to look like pieces from race car engines. Some of their movements even look like engines. So I suppose including a capsule of motor oil from a race car engine is a logical next step. Do you Mix or Match?
I dare say we've all been advised that it was not the done thing to have brown shoes on if we wore a dark suit in the evening. One of the girls who worked with me a few years back was commenting on the jet black dial of my AT and said that for all its' beauty it probably wasn't a summer colour. She was an artist at matching colours. Much thought went into ensuring her outfits had what my dad calls " colour harmony ". The blue AT which I loved so much was worn with practically everything, including a black suit. Sorry dad and Gina. I do match colours but generally speaking make an exception for watches. I don't think I'd wear a G-Shock or National Geographic watch with a tux though but the Speedy Pro for instance goes with practically everything imho. I probably wouldn't have worn the GMT Noir with a tux either but these days I doubt if anyone would notice. The 21st century ¡°Frogman¡± by Hamilton is made of titanium and is water resistant to a depth of 200 meters, 150 meters deeper than its 1940s predecessors. Hey Guys, been in Vegas the last couple of days, missed the great blizzard of '15, thank god, 😅. Visited the new AP boutique yesterday and was given the royal treatment by the boutique manager Zizo & his second in command Dom. Great people & visit. Going again today, if anyone of of you guys are around, let's go together & check it out. Zizo said, he's going to have some special pieces bought in for me. Quite excited.
