Dealing with weak Luminescence
First, let me politely ask, PLEASE, no "weak stream" references, I can feel them coming a mile away. Thanks! One of the features I liked about the Hamilton Ventura 50th Anniversary quartz, is the luminescent hands. I have always wondered why more casual watches that you would wear more often during the day, had glow in the dark hands, but dress watches, which are often worn only at night, do not have some means of being read in the dark. So, when I learned of the luminescent hands on the Ventura 50th, I was very excited.BUT, I learned very quickly that the hands don't glow brightly for very long. I contacted Hamilton to learn if this was a pervasive issue, or if it could be fixed. The techs there, and a number of people who have the same watch, told me they encountered the same thing. I have also had people tell me that other Hamiltons, such as some of the Khakis, don't glow very brightly for long.So, here's my questionshort of sending the watch off for 3rd part luming, is there

The limited edition model, of which this is #857 of 1000, features a very elegant padded box, an extra polyurethane band, a carbon fiber dial, a race themed power indicator, and an etched back case which features the STI team¡¯s finish in the Nurburgring 24 hour race.In addition to the extra goodies that come with the limited edition issue, the M-Force also has the 22 jewel Orient 40N5A movement, a 4o hour power reserve, a anti-reflective sapphire crystal, water resistant to 200m, and a case diameter of 46mm (the dial itself is probably around 37mm). Tritium Tube Watches...Best Bang For The Buck ?
Please...I Did a quick search and couldn't find a comparison of these few watches: Luminox, Traser and Marathon (oh, and Ball which I'm sorta steering away from because of cost).I desire accuracy, an automatic and want tritium tube luminescence.What brand do yunz suggest?I believe the Luminox watches are strictly quartz, correct?Thank yoU!

The most accurate wristwatch ever?
Came across this little bit of info earlier this week, thought I'd share it.Once again, it shows just how well-made some of the brands that are considered 'low-end' are.The Citizen Citizen Crystron Mega or 'Mega Quartz'. c.1975!Considered by many as the most accurate wristwatch. Whilst most quartz watches were within 15seconds per month, the citizen mega quartz/Citizen Crystron Mega was accurate to 3 seconds per year. Per year, people!A bit of info on it's 'thermocompensated' quartz movement:Stability in a quartz watch's rate, comes down to the cycles/beats of its resonator, the quartz crystal. Apparently, the crystal actually moves, many many thousand times per second. The fact that they have such a high oscillation rate negate traditional factors that effect a rate, ie: arm movement, watch position, gravity and so on.
