- I get tons of compliments on this very inexpesive watch. It looks great with everything....dressed up or dressed down. HIghly recommend. I have wrists and the cuff style works well for that.

- This is a great watch. The soft band fits comfortably around my wrist and isn't very heavy at all. The pattern on the band is stylish and the color is fun. The picture matches the actual watch very well.

This isn't the first tourbillon watch by Jaquet Droz, though it is the most elegant. A simple concept, this Grande Seconde Tourbillon takes the standard figure 8 dial design and inserts a classy looking tourbillon into the seconds dial. The resulting look is gorgeous and the tourbillon has a neat secret, but can you detect the amusing irony of the watch name? The original Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde watch was named as such because the seconds dial was placed in the larger part of the figure 8 style stacked dials. That is why it was called the "big seconds," because that dial was larger than the dial for the hour and minutes. In this case, to insert the tourbillon (which doubles as the seconds indicator), they used the smaller dial for the seconds. The watch is still called "Grande Seconde," but no longer is. Jaquet Droz could have produced a larger diameter tourbillon for the lower dial, or just changed the name of the watch. They didn't do either, but the second option would have made m

I've had nothing but problems with two IWC watches belonging to my son (Spitfire Mark XV) and me (Portofino), both automatics. The Spitfire has been sent back to Schaffhausen four times for repair work. According to my son, it is finally functioning properly presently. My Portofino has never worked normally since I bought it several years ago. The problems persisted despite four repair attempts by Schaffhausen, including de-magnetisation and replacement of the movement. It is presently on its way or is at Schaffhausen the FIFTH time for evaluation. Although an automatic, it continually stops running in the early hours of the day after being worn normally the day before. Also, it is slow by 30 seconds to a minute each day (according to IWC a mechanical automatic watch should not be off by more than 5 seconds a day). The only saving grace has been IWC's free repair service the past four times. Nevertheless, I am disgusted with the performance of this watch. i have reached the p
In the Gladstone thread, Endicott had asked if I was sure my Gladstone was green gf and not yellow. I posted some photos there, but being buried at the bottom of that thread, I'm not sure how many got to see it (it's still there). Anyway, here is the gist of what I posted:Here are some photos to show comparisons with my Webster (definitely yellow gf). The Gladstone does seem to be green gf (as does my Oval).
